CHEAT Utley
Quote:
Sure Cheat Utley, how could anyone know if a 102 mph fastball ever hit them? Is your middle name liar by chance? Another playoff blown call dooms Reds - MLB - Yahoo! Sports Wow, this guy really nailed it. Utley cheated. It is that simple because he wasn't hit, knew he wasn't hit and pretended that he was hit to get an unfair advantage. It was bush league and a poor example to all of the youth who were watching. Philadelphia already sports the most classless fans of any city and now their players are just as classless. Bleh. |

Not at all. We were talking about this in the other thread. This kind of thing has been part of the game since the beginning. It's the way the game has always been played.

Chase Utley = a likeable player for a team that has a lot of money, but not the most money....therefore are underdogs for the WS...with the current salary cap rules. (BUT THEY DO HAVE A LOT OF MONEY)...just not enough.
Derek Jeter = A pretty boy player who would be likeable if he wasn't associated with A-Rod and the New York Yankees. A player we wanted to like...even if we hated the Yankees...but still managed to fub it up. Whatever..give us more Ken Griffey Jr....wait...he played for the M's and the Red's...search for a story about some douchebag somewhere else. |

I love it when people rip Philly fans, especially when more often than not they've never even been to a game here. Are Philly fans vocal? sure. Do we demand that a player gives his best every time out? Absolutely. Do we accept losing? Absolutely not. That's why the players who play here love it, they know if they win, or at least do their best trying, the fans here will love them forever. Accepting failure however, and calling a first round playoff loss "a good season"(cough *McNabb* cough) is totally unacceptable. That's what my problem with McNabb always stemmed from, he didn't have that burning desire to have to win, like a Chase Utley has. Calling people who you've never even met classless, is what I consider classless.

A couple of other things, how can you call a guy a "winner" who has never won? Besides that, the majority of people here wanted him to stay, it was a vocal minority who wanted him out.If you heard last week, he got a standing ovation when he was introduced. Finally, the last time I checked, Andy Reid and the Eagles traded McNabb, not the fans. Last edited by PhillieFever; 10-10-2010 at 04:57 PM. |

The Reds scored four runs in three games. When the Cincinnati fans chanted "cheater" at Utley during Game Three, Utley responded with a home run. Maybe the Phillies were the better team? That's just me talking, though.

The Reds reminded me of the Phillies in 2007, sorta just happy to be there. They have a very good young team, and will be a factor for years to come, right now though, the NL still belongs to the Phillies. The Giants do not have a prayer. Phils in 5 there.

This reminds me of that College catcher who faked being hit by a pitch and then got ejected for pointing his bat at the umpire. I can't find the video right now though.
