Thumbs up The CanadianBL Has An Opening!

Update: We're full again. If you'd like to notified about the next opening, just PM me or say hi on our league's boards.

Full League Name (Initials): Canadian Baseball League (CBL)
Main URL: CBL Portal
Reports URL: BNN Home Page
Boards URL: CBL Index page
Commissioner(s) OOTP Forum Username(s): chrisj (he's currently on vacation so I'm subbing in for him for the rest of the regular season)
OOTP Version: X
Game Needed: Required
Players: Fictional
# of Teams: 24
Export Deadlines Days And Times: 4 times a week, 10PM EST
League Time Per Sim: 1 week
First Season: 2002
Latest Season: 2034
Available Teams:

This is a great league with a great cast. The commish has been the commish since the league first started back in April of 2002 (real time!) and many of the members are quite active and friendly. If you're into fictional leagues at all, IMO you'll be hard-pressed to find a better league.

We're currently about half way through the season so there's nothing but regular exporting for a little while. Last year was not a good year for MH, nor is this one, and they've been struggling with mediocrity for a few years. Their financials are about average, but they do have one of the best minors systems in the league.

Probably the biggest key to winning in the CBL is to not overpay for guys. You'll quickly notice that the best teams are pretty frugal when it comes to their finances and they often let some good players just walk away if they want too much. It can be awfully tempting to pay whatever a FA wants to bring him to your team, but it's also the quickest way to dig yourself a hole from which it may take seasons to dig yourself out of. Still, there are some FAs that are well worth whatever they want, like one of the best aces in the league, but many of the players will not only take your wallet, but much of your organization's future too if you let them. Play it smart, however, and you should do well.

To apply, just PM me.

About OOTP11, I should say that it's currently up in the air as to whether the league will switch to OOTP11 come next season. While some don't want to, some do including the commish so I'd say it probably will, but it's not official or anything yet.

a great league, been there for a 3rd season now.

Smaller than your standard MLB 30 teams format with less minor leagues to manage (R, A, AA, AAA), the CBL is easy to follow and the management of your franchise is very user-friendly.

Open to all, but if you are canadian, you gotta join!

I'm not a Canadian, but they let me in anyway. Simply put, the CBL is a good league. Regular sims, excellent leadership, solid base of owners. Win all around.

Not many leagues have been around as long as this one. Been there from the first sim. Check it out.

The British Columbia Eagles are now open.

The team has a solid core of players to build around, including 28 year old Tory Reilley, 26 year old Ross Henry and the best minor league system in the league (#1 prospect Bernard Adam, #5 prospect Esteban Martínez are an example of two of the players available).

If you're interested, please send me a PM.

Thanks!
