I should have mentioned this a while ago, but I completely forgot.

I added a future draft pick tracker to the draft utility. So now you can keep track of picks in future years. When the year comes around and you set up the draft order, the draft will automatically import the traded picks for that year as well.

I do not know if this is something you have insight on as it might be a game issue and not a utility issue, but here goes.

For our first amateur draft, the draft utility does now show some players that are listed in the game's draft pool. When I open the CSV file, you can see that these players are listed in players.csv as being a '1' in draft eligibility. Why is the game exporting these players as draft ineligible despite the fact they are in the draft pool?

Do you have feeder leagues?

Just an FYI, I did a quick sanity check and it looks like the current version of OU is good to go for OOTP 11. I plan on doing a more thorough test this weekend when I have a little more time.

Will the draft utility support rounds of differing length? This could happen when the game assigns compensatory picks for failure to sign your ammy. Right now we just include the round 1 order in order.txt and upload it, but can you specify multiple rounds in order.txt?

You can achieve this by modifying the picks.txt file after generating the draft. So, set the round order in order.txt as before, upload it and generate the draft, then open up picks.txt (same directory) and insert in the extra picks between rounds manually.

The Round # headers will be off by a few, but you'll achieve what you want with compensatory picks. We do this in one of my leagues with no issues.

Getch, technical question:
Does your program do a direct query of the dat files? If so, how are you accomplishing that? What kind of embedded database is OOTP using? -- I have put this question to about 9 or 10 people and they just kind of go, "huh?", or ignore the question altogether.

I have a utility program I'm working on right now that imports the CSV files into SQLite3 - Sqlite, by the way, rocks, I would just like to skip these two steps if it is at all possible.

The program parses the csv files using Perl and regular expressions. While databases are much easier to use and program with, getting commishes to set them up and maintain them is difficult, since many commishes have limited technical background. I wanted a lightweight and easy-to-setup utility, so I went with Perl and parsing, for better or for worse.

Coming back to check out this problem as it is happening again and I don't want to slave through editing players on to teams again.

Yes, I do have feeder leagues and the ages are set. However, clearly I am doing something wrong because the utility seems to think there are more draft-eligible prospects in COL and HS than the game does.

Try bumping the ages you enter in OOTPOU up by one.

Is there any way to get this to work for a non-league ID of 100? We're starting up a league that's running concurrent with Major League Baseball, and thus our league ID is 101.

Sorry I missed this. The league ID shouldn't be hardcoded anywhere. It is pulled from the .csv files for whatever teams have a human manager.

Anybody know if this version works with OOTP12 as well or will it require an update?

My lg hasn't switched yet, but I'm just curious for if/when it does.

Not sure what the turnaround time is for this or if development is still actually ongoing?

Hey guys,

I plugged OU against the OOTP 12 csv files and saw no issues. Everything appeared to be working just fine. So go ahead and just keep using the same OU when you upgrade to OOTP 12, and let me know if you see any issues.

We'll be using it in some of my online leagues so I should catch anything that goes wrong as well.
