Nope. Each version is "stand-alone" with its own patches. You'd be better off just waiting for 11 rather than buying 10. It'll only be a few more weeks until it's released.

I just want an answer, I swear I'm not trying to start a public debate on the issue in these forums. PM or email would be fine, I just want to know whether or not I can feel good about purchasing. The way things are going economically, cancelling my ISP is a real possibility. And I've done without internet access for long periods of time before (the library is free).

If no answer, I guess I can take that an answer?

You can license off-line, and you should NOT need an active internet connection in order to play.

Ok, thanks. Pre-ordered. Printed out the invoice, and was wondering if that real long serial number is what we need to license it now?? Gotta make sure I don't lose that invoice.

Anyways, thanks for answering my question. Not sure what will happen later this year, but it's good to know that if I do cancel my ISP and no longer have access to the internet that I can keep playing OOTP. (Geez, it's now officially the game I've spent the most hours playing EVER.)

Preordering OOTP 11 is a great idea, but we would also help you with your OOTPX, no problem! Just let us know in tech support, what the problem is.

Never mind I see it got changed on me. I thought all along I had until the 11th or so to preorder and I don't have time to come to this site everyday so I assumed it wouldn't get changed on me as most companies won't change a promotion like that. Just my luck the promotion stopped on the 7th and I tried to pre order today on the 8th.
