I think Palmer will be a bust, not because of him but because of Cincinnati.
I also think Leftwich will do well in Jax, as well as Boller for Baltimore.

So far I like Leftwic's chances in Jacksonville. As for the future, he would be included and I even think Chris Simms will be as well. Hes finally in a good place with Gruden teaching him and he'll be able to take his time on learning for a couple more years as Brad will continue to lead the offense through that time.

Rex Grossman will continue the fine tradition of Gator QBs in the NFL.

Leftwich will probably do the best out of anyone in the draft as long as he can stay healthy and not get overweight. The often overlooked Dorsey will be a good fit in SF and I think he will be solid in a few years.

I think Simms will be strong, particularly given the sytem he's coming up in. Poor Carson Palmer. More talent wasted on Cincinatti.
And will someone please explain to me why Houston picked Drew Henson with Ken Dorsey, Brad Banks and Jason Gesser left? And why nobody bothered with Banks? Keep an eye on Kliff Kingsbury, who was Texas Tech's QB and was drafted by New England. He set all kinds of records at TT. Though, I'll grant he was throwing a lot, but he was the third QB ever to amass more than 10,000 yards in his NCAA career. Though, the first two were David Klingler and Ty Detmer. Anyway, he's worth watching. End self-argument....now.

Houston doesn't need a quarterback. They probably just wanted Henson in case he decided to play, and they could then trade him for someone. They have no use for Dorsey, Banks, or Gesser.

Rex Grossman, no doubt.
Or, as I like to think of him, Ryan Leaf II

This year, I bet Kyle Boller will be the QB drafted that gets the most action, and therefore does the best.
Palmer, Leftwich, Grossman, and the rest will be lucky to get much PT. Over time, I say Leftwich. |

I live in Jacksonville, and its nice to hear everybody think Leftwich is going to be the man. Right now the town is having a small conniption (sp?) over what to do about Brunell. Personally i'm of the opinion that you let him stay one more year. I think he'll find that he's better suited to the West coast offense we're planning on and his trade value might peak at the end of this season. With that in mind, it gives Leftwich time to learn the NFL game over the course of the year and gives him a chance to be ready as a starter next season after we renegotiate Brunells contract in order to trade him (massive cap.)
Any opinions?

I think they should definitely let Brunell stay one more year and teach Leftwich a few things. Jacksonville isn't really going to compete either way, so it's probably better to be conservative with Leftwich since there shouldn't be a lot of pressure to throw him into the fray.

Oh wait, never mind. Maybe the Bengals could use a guy who plays like crap every time he goes up against a decent team. Do the numbers 4-22, 43 yds, 3 INT bring back any memories? ![]() By the way, Banks was signed, in case you didn't notice. Last edited by ExposFan08; 04-29-2003 at 09:16 AM. |

*chuckle* Always gotta make it personal, don't ya. Whatever makes you feel better. :P
Wallace was DRAFTED by Seattle. Perhaps you're confusing him with Palmer who went to the Bengals? It's an easy mistake to make--they're both talented QBs.

It doesn't matter. This is the year that Ryan Leaf, David Klingler and Andre Ware all break through and shine.

And I knew Wallace wasn't going to the Bengals, I made that comment because I thought he would fit in well with the long list of "successful" Bengals QB's.
