I'm running a test league with default settings to see what we come up with, using high injuries (which I never like) but all of the other defaults to see what the numbers look like and then to decide what sorts of tweaks I'm interested in making based on how I play (which is admittedly, not 80s style)

I'm curious to see if anyone can come up with realistic modifiers for leagues that have both HS and COL feeders.

I know there's an issue with RonCo/Skydog settings if you use feeders.

Wouldn't both aging and dev rates have to be dialed down using feeders?

For example, 1.100/.650/1.100/.650?

Anyone want to run a sim with this? I'm currently running one.

I've found the right balance and surprisingly there isn't a ton of tinkering that needs to happen.

I saw RonCo's post in the v.9 forum. Where in v.10 do you find the development settings? I must be missing something; I can't find it.

I'll bite. Can you post what tinkering does need to be done?

With Skydog gone I wonder who will step up and do the Skydog numbers for OOTPX?

One thing I hate is with the tweaks in each new version we aren't quite sure what needs to be adjusted.
Usually means hours of test leagues to get the results we want and then when we think it's good a couple of the vets will post how aging is out of whack and then more test leagues.

I guess it's something to work on till the first patch.

Just wanted to keep this thread alive as I'm curious about the changes. I bought the game but still haven't switched over my 9.0 skydog league.

Darkcloud...Care to share your settings? My testing so far shows very little tinkering also but I have not tested development yet. If all setting are at 1.000 it appears as if SB need to be increased slightly, SP endurance needs a bump up and HR's need to be slightly bumped up.

The default development seems fairly solid so far, however, I need to do more analysis.

I've actually already done it(or something like it) I created a quickstart that's available at Padrefan's based on MLB of the late 70's and early 80's.If you don't care to use the league, you could just use the numbers in a league of your choice.I think its called 1970's MLB quickstart

I'm running with all development modifiers at default (1.0/1.0/1.0/1.0) and injuries on High, and I've run two or three dozen 100-year sims, and I'm pretty happy with them. At this point, I've got the League Settings I want to generate stats I like, and I'm just playing with finances to get the sort of large-market/small-market imbalance I like before playing solo.

So, in a nutshell, default development settings with injuries on high is generating career paths that I like. They may not be 100% accurate, but I'm not really in a position to judge that anyway - I'm more interested in something that pleases me style-wise.

I would upload HTML reports of some of my 100-year test sims, but at this point it takes longer to generate and upload the HTML than it does to run the sims. If I start writing about a solo dynasty again, I'll upload HTML for that periodically and you can see the results I'm getting.

I would agree except I only had a handful of 300 game winners and stolen bases seemed slightly low. But yes overall I could not see any overwhelming problems and most likely it would need to be broken down more statistically to see them.

Do you keep the "League Totals" and "AI options" modifiers SkyDog recommends for v10? Basically, the only thing to change is the development settings back to default and injury frequency to high?
Thanks

You could call him a monster, or you could call him...a "Wild and Crazy guy."
