Exclamation OOTP 10 Patch #2, Version 10.2.16 (updated!), Available Now!

Hey friends,

We have just released the second patch for OOTP 10, version 10.2.16!

UPDATE: 10.2.15 was released yesterday. The new version contains a fix for DL notifications of minor league players as well as a crash bug fix when scouting accuracy was set to very high. Customers who experienced problems in these areas are advised to upgrade to the latest build.

The previous patch contained a few issues which we wanted to address, here is the fix-list for the new patch:
- Fixed auto-save funtion
- Fixed missing weekly update of power rankings and monthly human team scouting
- Fixed pitching rotation size selector in the team screen to allow 1- and 2-men rotations
- Fixed rare truncated PbP engine outputs
- Fixed crash when setting scouting accuracy to very high
- DL notification messages of minor league players are now tied to the manager option 'Minor League promotion/releases'. If this is set to the computer, no notifications will occur.

So, users who installed patch #1, please upgrade to patch #2. All others, there is no need to get patch #1, simply use patch #2 as it includes all previous changes.

For detailed instructions on how to patch, please see here.

For details of what was fixed, please see here.

Always back up important files before updating your software!

The focus of this patch was to fix/tune critical issues as well as updating and improving the 2009 roster set.

You can download the patch here:

If you have trouble with the patch tool, I suggest downloading the full installer and then simply install it over your current OOTP 10 installation. Again, this will NOT result in a loss of your saved-games, they remain untouched.

Do I have to start a new game for MLB QUICKSTART to apply the changes?

Quick question

I had a league I just started with the first patch, filled with custom feeder leagues. I was only 4 games in so it is no real loss, but building the feeder leagues to my specifications took time.

If I save my world as a template and restart with the new patch, will the changes in patch 2 apply to my new league. Or do I have to rebuild the custom leagues from scratch.

Thanks to everyone who make this a great game, developers and community.

Simply install the patch and continue your league, it will work fine!

Not if you used patch #1 to create the new game, simply install the patch and continue playing

I saw them in the draft..WSH picked Starsburg while Seattle picked a fictional rookie, Ackley ended up in the Padres

All I can say is that I'm not.
It is running fine on my desktop and notebook.
Both run latest updates of XP.

I am running into problems. The game was running fine pre-patch (in Windows). I tried applying just patch #2, then tried the full install over the old install, then tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and finally tried uninstalling and reinstalling in a new folder, but every time, as soon as I launch the game, I get "error - could not find /facegen folder" followed by various "TEMPLATES ENGINE:load template file..." messages.

I can start a new league, but run into trouble when bringing the saved game (.dat files only) over from games saved previously to this patch. When I go to load the old saved game, I get this message: "Nation::import_flag_image - unable to move down into nation_flags directory" and the game freezes solid.

Possibility: This may be because I cannot use the default location for the game

It's odd because I ran past versions of OOTP (8 and 9) on that same laptop with no problems (and I tested and can still run them with no problem on that laptop). I have no idea what the issue could be.

I'm having the same trouble with the #2 patch to the Windows version. I never installed patch #1 and use a nonstandard path (different drive letter).

If I understand what I read, you need to install the full game to your non standard path for things to work correctly.

Yes, I have done that, although I tried the patch alone, first.

If I were to make a wild guess, it would be this: Once you have tried applying just the patch, something gets recorded into the registry which makes the game look to the wrong location for subfolders, and uninstalling and starting over does not undo the damage.

btw, where did you read this advice? I did not see such a warning in the directions.
