I just hit 85 HRs with Sammy (I love Coors Field) didnt hurt to have Manny Ramirez (62 HRs) and Carlos Delgado (like 55 HRs) hitting with him.

I started a season in 1994...strike year ticked me off and going from there sounds like a good idea (just bought the game 5 days ago). In 1994, Bonds hit 81, Kevin Mitchell hit 77, and Bagwell hit 73. Since then nobody has come close, I'm in 1998 now, and since then Sosa has come the closest with 68. Other Unusual happenings are Randy Johnson and Griffey becoming free agenst and going to the Rangers, Clemens is now a top of the line started for the Mets. Mets are cleaning house. They have add Clemens, Pedro, Sheffield, Caminitti (I play with the Astros and couldnt hold on to him). Only free agent I have signed is Irod. I've developed Phil Nevin and bobby Abreu and have made the playoffs but can't take the Mets.....

How did Matt Williams fare? If I remember correctly, which I likely don't, he was the Home Run leader at the break.

Specs,

In 1994, (my league) he hit 45, but missed a month and a half. Factured ankle and a dislocated shoulder. Since then he's hit about 35 to 40 since. I'm still in 1998.

He was 10 hitting homeruns from left and 11 from right when I traded for him. He just won triple crown at Coors field. Now his homerun stats just went through roof. Maybe I should train him in defence in spring training though! This is first player I have seen have consecutive 70 homer seasons. Glad I picked him up! I Traded Lance Berkman and someone else for him.

2007, Adam Dunn (Colorado), 85 Homeruns, 187 RBI, .329 AVG
2007, Alex Rodriguez (Colorado), 77 Homeruns, 187 RBI, .335 AVG
2007, Alex Escobar (Colorado), 53 Homeruns, 135 RBI, .335 AVG
2007, Alexis Rios (Colorado), 51 Homeruns, 130 RBI, .334 AVG

It is fun playing as Colorado I think I will take over the Florida franchise. There fanbase is almost nonexistant now. I fixed the Rockies and brought them 4 consecutive World Series.

11 consecutive seasons with 50 homers. I took over Atlanta instead in 2008 and just had to have him on my team when he became free agent. He is going to destroy Alex Rodriquez record it seems...Alex has over 900 now I believe. I am playing Rolens roster and haven't made any changes at all to it.

Other players with over 60 homers are

2004, Luis Gonzalez (Arizona), 65 Homeruns, 157 RBI, .338 AVG
2005, Sammy Sosa (Chicago (N)), 63 Homeruns, 142 RBI, .305 AVG

I just had a fictional drafted player hit 70 HRs and he didn't play in Coors Field. Adrian Montavalo was the 2nd pick in the 2003 draft by Baltimore. Was signed by the Cubs as a free agent in 2009 and hit 70 bombs in 2010. He enter the last weekend against my Pirates with 65 and hit 5 in 4 games to tie Big Mac.

This was using Rolen's roster, no changes to ballparks or era settings or ever htting recalculate.

This might also belong in the thread about developing fictional power hitters.

Just finished up a little historical run from 1920 through 2001 and good ol' Sam Horn hit 67 longballs, twice in back to back season ('96 & '97) for Texas. The Babe got dealt to St Louis in the early 30's and still holds the NL record with 62.

Cristian Guerrero (Vlad's Cousin in the Brewer minor league system) became a golden God for me once...

.423 with 88 Homeruns...was his best year, but when he retired...dude had gone yard almost 1000 times (988) and had a lifetime average that rivaled some of the best (.358) in his 17 year career...he didn't take many walks though...he had a fair so his obp was around .390-.410 most of the time.

Problem was is he really never declined his last season he still went yard 50 times...with a more than respectable .310 average (a career low, but still).

Never seen anyone do it before or since.

In my most recent fictional league I had someone hit 48 the first year and it's steadily declined since.

In 1913-1993 historical league, I'm in 1926 and so far Cy Williams has the league record with 38 homeruns. Babe Ruth has developed well but Williams always outhits him with far inferior ratings. This is with era results that are in line with reality by less than 1% variance.

I don't like making predictions, but I expect by 1993 the homerun champ will be McGwire and he'll probably have around 50 homeruns at least one season if he stays healthy.
