The most I had in OOTP3 was Ivan Rodriguez hit 63, that was in the same season that he had 203 RBI.

Roger Maris actually had the AL lead for me in 1961 with 60, Willie May was the NL leader with 57 not sure on the year for him. Mays was also my career leader with 735.

In my 100 years of the HOB Wally Post set the mark with 67 for the 1958 Red Sox. Only Mark McGwire in 1997 and Joe Hauser in 1932 also reached 60. Babe Ruth hit between 50 and 60 homers 9 times.

Through 1970, Willie Mays holds my league's record with 61 as a New York Giant in 1955.
Dick Gernert has the AL record of 55 with Boston in 1959. |

In my OOTP 4 league, Sammy Sosa hit 76 in the first season. No one has come close to it since. I just finished the 2004 season.

Shawn Green hit 74 the first season I simmed with OOTP4, now the only guy that can reach 60 is Slammin' Sammy.

Vito Granger 2002 - Cubs
.356 204 hits 81 hr 177 rbi 147 runs - MVP This is the record for home runs in my league. Of course he is not on my team, but he's in the NL so I don't have to face him.

In my fictional Metro Leagues (1970 start year) Carr Fernandez set the mark at 60 in '71; Frenchy Armstrong broke it with 61 in '72, and Whammer Olson broke Frenchy's bar with 62 in '74. Last season ('78) Olson fell 2 shy of breaking his own mark with 61 dingers. So far only 3 players in the Metros have broken into the 60 mark. All listed above.

Jimmy Jefferson with 71 in 1905 with the Orlando Predators.
I'm simming a fictionan League, it started in 1900 and I am now up to 1953. I have been using Modern Era settings for my league totals so there have been alot of guys hitting 50+ HRs in a season. Jimmy is 10th all time in HRs with 521 (all time leader is Wayne Pavlik with 613). |

In my fictional league I had a fellow named Alton hit 70 one year. The crazy thing is he only played like 8 years and only broke 40 HR twice! 2nd highest total is in the upper 50s.

I have never had a player hit 50 home runs...48 several times by several different players.
I started following baseball in the early sixties, 50 hr in a season was Mays in '62, Foster in '77. 73 (or God only knows how many HR this year) sucks hard. |
