When will this patch be available for those that purchased OOTP 9 through Steam?

I just tried to download the patch and it was dying after a couple of seconds (I even tried the MAC version with the same results).

I have finally managed to download the patch using my download manager, Getright. That too disconnected 9 times, each time only getting a couple of hundred KB, but on the 10th attempt it downloaded the file through to the end.

This might help.

Cheers

I was hoping this was just a fluke but it looks like it's here to stay. I notice the program has no memory of all the data crunching it does as you go between screens on the same transaction. For example, when you're trying to trade for a player on another team, and you ask it to "make this work" you wait through the now-tedious process as the program churns through the players it would be willing to take in exchange. Then, you click on one of those to take a closer look at his stats, etc., but when you go back out to the previous screen, you have to wait for the entire analyzing process to be conducted from scratch again.

The game was always this way (no memory of what it had just analyzed), but now that it takes so long for it to analyze a trade, it would be nice if it could remember its conclusion so you only had to go through this process once per proposed player.

I hope this makes sense.

I'm having fun with this feature, using my two final picks in the last rounds of the draft to find MR's with some bat and field potential, changing and locking their positions accordingly. I nicknamed them "Ex-Pitcher" and "I Used To Be A Pitcher" to keep track of them. It should be interesting to see whether they develop into something useful.

I'm referring to the procedure that occurs after you select "make this work now" dialogue in the trade screen.

It does. There's an aspect of this that appeals to me. It's not the popular opinion, but I think trades should be more of a drawn-out process and not the quick-fix answers, with the exception of winter meetings. Regardless, it's worth posting in the Tech Support area so we can be sure to get this logged and at least be examined for v10.

In the league I commish, I did have a GM update to 9.20 even though I haven't done so yet, and his export worked fine.

I'm glad to see these back in the game, too.

PBP is excellent, too. Much improved and expanded... plus the hard-code errors and typos have been fixed.

Thanks, Markus.

It'd be nice if it had a read.me, eh? What version are you currently using? In most cases - and that's just me I'm talking about - I rename my ootp9.exe, run the new patch directly over the old version. If everything works all right, then I'll delete (or move) my old .exe file.

Downloads has a basic description of installation. I don't know if you've seen it or not.

After I upgraded to 9.2.0, I can't sim past June 13, 1991. The game crashes to the Desktop. I'll start the game back up and my database loads up an earlier date (the last time I saved my game), and it crashes again on June 13. Tried it again, and a crash again. Downgrading to 9.1.6 doesn't even load the database; it crashes during Checking Database. Re-installing 9.2.0 loads the database, but still results in a crash on June 13, 1991. I'm on a Mac, and any crashes before were always recoverable, but this is the first time my game has effectively been stopped dead in its tracks, a Historical League started in 1871. And I was going for my 5th World Series win in a row too.
