Hello,
Actually my question is two fold. I currently have OOTP 6.51 on my PC. I just bought a Mac and want to play the game on there and not my old PC. Do I need to buy OOTP 9, or will my old order number and license work from the old PC version? Also since I haven't finished my old 6.5 league and don't want to simulate it to get to opening day, is there a 6.5 version for Mac I can download just to finish up the season before I go to OOTP 9? I'm not even sure there was that far back. Figured I'd ask. Thanks! |

I'm pretty positive your old PC OOTP6.5 won't work on your mac. The protection scheme for PC, elicense, doesn't work on mac so the mac uses a completely different one, esellerate or something. I don't think a mac version was ever made for OOTP6.5.
Now OOTP9 OTOH, I'm not sure, but I think you can buy a PC version and then use one of those virtual machine things like wine to play it on your mac, but if you're not going to play it on a PC then you're probably better off to just buy the Mac version. Once you get your OOTP9 copy you can convert your OOTP6.5 league into an OOTP9 league with it. Well, I'm not sure you can use the mac version to do that conversion, but I'm thinking you can use the OOTP9 PC demo to do it and then just copy that league folder to your Mac. This I'm not sure of, just what I think you can probably do, so you should get confirmation from someone who has done it or check that it can be done.

Yeah, you'll have to use your PC version of 6.5 to advance to opening day, then convert the league into OOTP 9, which ought to work fine on either Mac or PC.
Is there anything more that we can help you with? |

Thanks guys. Last thing. So I guess have to buy the new version at some point, my old license won't work on the PC or the Mac version of 9 right?

The license is for that version of the game only. It's not a lifetime license if that's what you are asking. You can still play OOTP6 with that license, but if you want to play OOTP9 you'll have to purchase an OOTP9 license.
