Not version 1, but I did get version 2. I remember that it was really buggy but had a huge amount of potential. I played Baseball Mogul at the time, and I remember thinking that if I could have a game as deep statistically as OOTP but as fast and relatively bug-free as Mogul, I'd be set. OOTP turned out to be all that and more (well, I guess Mogul is probably still faster, but the tradeoff is worth it).

Wow, I am one of 260.
I have bought every version, including 6.5 and 8. |

I don't mean to pry, Markus, but given that only 260 bought the first version, I assume it didn't really earn you much money. At what point (what version) did the game become successful enough to sustain you? I'm just curious, if you wouldn't mind shedding some light there.

I would love to see that post as I did not get into OOTP until #4.

That would be kind of cool, actually. Maybe for OOTP 10 there could be like a pre-order bonus: Every pre-order of OOTP 10 comes with the original OOTP 1. Or just point us to where we could get OOTP 1, now. I might pay like 5 bucks for it. If it runs on XP, anyway. I could just see it now: "Markus, it's been 9 years, when's the new OOTP 1 patch coming out???"

OOTP2 was the first OOTP product I bought. Been a satisfied customer and fan ever since.
As the former producer of Season Ticket Baseball for Infogrames/Atari, I always tell people that my #1, most awesome, enjoyable project I worked on was Season Ticket Baseball. First, because Markus is an exceptional developer to work with and, second, I actually got paid to play Season Ticket Baseball 12 hrs./day for a few months! ![]() I hope everyone understands how lucky they are as OOTP users that Markus really cares and puts in a 120% effort- not many developers work that way. |
