But then how do I maintain my upcoming Gears of War dynasty? 2B Markus Fenix is just plain inaccurate and would probably affect his batting average.

I take it from the posts since this there is no viable workaround??? I've never fired a guy and then immediately tried to resign him so was curious. And yes I know that's unrealistic and a bit of a financial penalty too, but I was curious if this was a workaround.

Or would another workaround be to promote the AAA guy BEFORE the guy in place in the bigs has his contract expire, like the day after the regular season if you don't make the post-season???

May I respectfully request a similar status update on the issue in the thread below?

Actually, bug fix updates are the big things I'm waiting on before giving my league the go-ahead to pre-order. In particular, I'd be thrilled to get an update on BZ 233.

Hey, 1998 Yankees. Great new avatar. That looks like Col. Ruppert to the left, but , on the right, is that Tillinghast L’Hommedieu Huston, his co-owner, who had one of the more interesting names in baseball history, or is it Ed Barrow, the great GM of the 20s Yanks?

Thanks. The note that I have on it says: "Col. Jacob Ruppert and Capt. T.L. Huston on the Souvenir Program for Yankee Stadium opening day, April 18, 1923."

I know for me I could care less about spelling, but I have had my fill of the fix issue X or I will never play again.

I think there are better ways to express concerns about issues than ultimatums that are both empty and meaningless to the community. There are several issues I would love to see fixed, none that I would give up playing the game for.

Does the profanity filter cause the "clbuttic" problem? When things are "classic"?

The British version causes problems with three football clubs -- Arsenal, S****horpe, and Manchester F'in United...

Sorry

hahaha - so true.

what really gets me is then you get the thread titled "I am outta here" where a person proceeds to say why they are leaving/quitting/etc.

Clbuttic.

I didn't say, 'Fix issue X or I will never play again.' I said 'Fix issue X or the game is unplayable (for me).' I couldn't play 2007 because of this issue, and version 8 was essentially a 2007 rehash, so I've been enjoying 2006 for over two years now. If this issue continues to exist in version 9, I plan to continue enjoying 2006 into the foreseeable future, but I CAN'T PLAY VERSION 9 IF THIS ISN'T FIXED.

Not 'won't play', CAN'T play.

fair enough. that is not how I interpreted it, but who am I to say what you meant.

However, my context was the whole board. It seems as though there is a daily ultimatum thread. I just find that odd considering of all the games I have played over the years - Markus is far and away the most available and accommodating developer I have ever seen. Try complaining about major issues with EA or 2k, or even something smaller like FOF. No other software of any type that I have used has been so consistently improved and influnced by the community that uses it.

Agree 100%. The influence exerted by the clientle that had effect was almost exclusively those supported by a reasonable number of respectful and persistent voices, not the volume and vehemence of a few. In the grand scheme of things, Markus has - often in opposition to various factions - continued to cater to the vast majority of styles and demands without- and it's near impossible, IMHO- sacrificing something somewhere. But, astonishingly, he often succeeds in that endeavor.

In the end, with respect to your original observation, that philosophy translates into, "I'll do everything I can, when I can and if I can, to please existing customers. If that proves insufficient, then hopefully, what I have provided will draw more new customers who are grateful for, and loyal to, those efforts than ones I lose who are not." That's not just sound business direction, that's fair and equitable ethics.
