Earlier League Start Years?

I know this is both a corny suggestion and one that has been suggested before, but could the game be opened up just a wee bit to allow games to start before the year 1800? I'm sure that bland types will want to be able to start their fictional leagues in the year 1, and additionally us aWesome people who create aWesomely boring dynasties would really like to start in, say, 1066 (Ye Olde English League-e) or 610 (Muslim dynasty) or even 470 (Fall of Rome League) (I hear the Visigoths had some really good pitching). Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't seem to be *that* hard to code. I'm not saying I want negative years (at least not until v10) (the Sumerian league will have to wait) but it'd still be cool.

What he said. And there isn't any problem with leagues that start well into the future (by a few hundred years) is there?

When you play historical leagues do expansion teams come in to the league?

I *think* there's an upper limit as well, but I don't remember what it is.

Such as the Goths, Visigoths, Huns.... ?

There is an option in historical leagues for expansion teams to come in. Up to you if you want them to show up or not. You could also manually import expansion teams out of order, in different years, etc., etc.

Yes, the historical mode of OOTP rocks, it adjusts all sort of things automatically, like ballparks, team names, league strategy, rule changes etc.

The more I read on the historical play the more intriguing it becomes!
Might have to give it a go now.

With all of the automatic adjustments in historical mode of OOTP, I am going to create an historical league (first time for me) to see how it works.
