How to justify a $40 price tag without realistic career modelling of Barry Bonds' head?

Wow, I really lost track. Were we talking about OOTP or my net income?
![]() But seriously, this would be my point too. I've bought far worse games more money. Even as a starving college student, I'm going to put a few of my older games up on eBay, sell them, and break even on the whole exchange. Life is good. |

Add only those new features that work...and perfect the old ones that need to be tweaked. I like your development philosopy for OOTP9. |

Even at $40, it's a bargain IMO, if OOTP is your cup of tea. And I have enjoyed OOTP 2007 and version 8 immensely. As did I version 4,5,6, and 6.5. The only one I didn't was ootp 2006, and I see that as a speed bump now. I'll preorder.

Well, I'll give the sound a try but I hope it can be turned off if you want to; especially if it takes up a lot of cpu cycles.

have always thought that the sound added to the experience. I was disappointed when it was left out of 2006, and happy to see it back for 9.

What happened to all the people who were clamoring for sound a few years ago? Have they all left or was it longer ago than I thought?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to another year of OOTP. I just started playing last year's version again and enjoying the hell out of it. |

Oddly, there were really only three things I wanted from OOTP9:
1) A Champions League setup that would allow, say, MLB vs. Japan in a "real World Series"; 2) A way to create continent-wide leagues with only players from the countries in question; 3) A way to create "national teams" in a World Baseball Classic-style tournament. Any hope?

{insert Wolf's #1 wanted feature here} is a waste - no way you should spent time on stupid crap like that when you could be working on sound.

To make a remote stab at being productive in this thread, I will say that any of the following three things would swing me immediately over to the "I will buy this this instant" crowd (preferably at least two out of three): - Reconfiguration of pitcher stamina to be dependent upon pitch quality and conditioning, not some inherent physical trait - Reconfiguration of defensive ratings to acknowledge that while players are generally considered "naturals" at certain positions, anyone who can play SS or CF can almost certainly play any other IF or OF position - Ability to create players from statistics, the way the game itself can do (and the way most/all competitors or semi-competitors on the market do) |

I'm kinda disappointed that the pitching model overhaul isn't on this list. It's one of the remaining fundamental shortcomings of this otherwise great game, imho. I would've thought it far more essential than, say, sound, which is pretty much the most useless feature that's ever been in OOTP.

Since nobody else is giving the announced sound feature any love (aside from Markus) I'll chime in and say that I can't wait for this
![]() I'm a solo player and I like to play out all my games (sometimes even going pitch by pitch for those really important at-bats) so having sound in the game will just be another step towards getting immersed in my own little world. Now, what about the "get Wife to understand obsession with OOTPB" feature? |

Call me picky, but I'd rather listen to my music than canned sound clips for the 40 millionth time.

Applying the Sabermetrics measurement standards however, where Saturdays and Sundays are more heavily weighted as counting as a "playing day" due to the higher potential of OOTP usage and Mondays being weighed less due to a lower likelihood of significant OOTP time due to weekend impact, the true daily value is closer to .103881 cents per day.
