So, any thought given to a 2008 OOTP Convention?

My brother lives there. Nice area in the summer. Are you a racing fan? It is very close to Mosport, one of the really classic road courses in NA.

How Toledo went down...
The story behind the first convention goes like this. I would know because I worked for the Mudhens during the time it all went down.
The In Game Entertainment crew (guys who run the cameras and scoreboard graphics and such) were one day talking on the headsets about cool baseball games. One of the workers, Tad Fowlkes , told us all about OOTP. He had played the game for a few years. So I went online and found it and purchased it. LOVED it right away. So Tad and I talked about the game all the time. Eventually our supervisor Corey Cowell, who no longer works for the Hens, wanted to do an online league with all of us at the Hens. So we ended up getting a bunch of guys together and started an online league. MHOOTPA "Mud Hens Out of the Park Association". Cory is one if those guys that once hes into something he is into it all the way. He is also a big computer guy, and obviously we are all huge baseball fans. So the game really was a big deal to him. He eventually got ahold of ..I think it was Steve, but I know he got ahold of the the guys who built the game. (I'm sorry I don't know your name...but I've been playing forever ) Cory came up with the idea of having a convention because he knew that those that would come are dye hard baseball fans. The package would be easy for him to put together because he could have some of the Hens at the time come and discuss baseball, get a good deal at the hotel, and tickets to the Hens game that weekend. THAT is why Toledo was picked. I ended up working the game, and never had a chance to make it over to the convention. Always wondered how it all came together, how many attended ect. Cory moved on to another gig and I eventually left Toledo and am now in Washington, DC. I think I might be the only one still active on the board that was around from the 2004 season. Thats how the first convention came to be. The End. Sean |

What's amusing about revisiting this is that my wife did indeed go to Peterborough last summer for nearly 2 weeks, taking my two daughters. I had to work. |

Andreas mentioned something about perhaps seeing an American football game next time he came over. There was a bit of discussion about would you want to see an NFL game, a college game, or a high school game. All have pluses and minuses.

If it's even remotely close to Ohio I would likely attend. Might be fun to arrange a H2H tourney.
