Wow, I love the new logo. I'm going to go out and buy as much Rays stuff as I can right now. Right now. I mean as soon as I'm done posting this I'm going out. Right now.

Wait, what was I going to do again?

Oh well, back to the internet porn.

I will not support them since they dropped the Devil out of their name.

Horrible!!! Bring back the unis from this season. Those were far better then the ones their using next year. What's wrong with "Stingrays" or something like that?

They were much too worried about the expected Gordon Sumner-led protests.

Kind of not really. AFAIK though, there aren't any teal teams left either. (D'Backs went red, like 1/2 of MLB)

Does anyone other than me get a Padres vibe from the new uniforms? They were better in brown, anyway. The Padres, that is - the Devil Rays were never good looking.

Looks like they already changed the domain name of the official site: http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=tb - it was devilrays.com.

I agree, LLN - they look like the Padres now.

Ultimately, there was no need whatsoever to change their uniforms, since they already just said "Rays".

Wait a minute:

After months of speculation about coming changes, the Rays spilled the beans about the subtraction of "Devil" from the name, their new team colors -- navy blue and light blue -- and a new icon, a bright yellow sunburst invoking the magnificence of life in the Sunshine State.
So they're unofficially the Tampa Bay Rays of Sunshine?

Weren't these released like a month ago? I remember seeing the uniform and logo on Chris Creamer's site and Uniwatch.

If they wanted to capture the magnificence of living in the Sunshine State they should have had the R wearing mouse ears.

Seriously, if I'm playing OOTP and I have real team names and the Devil Rays do well, it actually feels unrealistic to me. I can't imagine a reality in which the Devil Rays are good.

IIRC, they got leaked somewhere else, and the sportslogos.net board and UniWatch jumped all over it.
