Rough season, but we all know that.
I'm looking forward to the offseason.

Lance Broadway was impressive in his first big-league start, only allowing 2 singles and 2 walks in 6 innings while striking out 8. The Sox have held Kansas City scoreless for 2 straight games.
Paulie hit his 30th home run of the year, giving him his 4th straight 30+ home run season. Oh, and Buehrle killed a bear last weekend. Not sure if it was the biggest bear I've ever seen, though. |

WOOHOO THE WHITE SOX CLINCHED FOURTH PLACE, EASILY THE MOST EXCITING CLINCHING IN CHICAGO BASEBALL LAST NIGHT that pertains to this thread!!!!!
Also, Bobby Jenks became the first Sox reliever to notch back-to-back 40-save seasons. WTG, big guy! |

The Sox and A.J. Pierzynski have signed a deal that will prevent him from poisoning the atmosphere in anybody else's clubhouse through 2010:
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...tnered=rss_cws The contract through 2008 will remain the same ($5.85 million), and he'll get $6.25 million in 2009 and 2010. On the whole, I have no problem with this. Pierzynski's certainly not the greatest defensive catcher in the world, but (with the exception of half a season of Charles Johnson in 2001) he's easily the best catcher the Sox have had since Carlton Fisk. That is, unfortunately, not as much of an edorsement of Pierzynski as an idictment of all the other crappy catchers the Sox have trotted out there. Yes, Officer Ron Karkovice, I'm talking about you, too. |
