Major Indoor Soccer League.
Which, I guess, almost counts. |

Is anybody concerned that Orlando is 50 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, the nearest body of water in which sharks might be encountered?

Yes, I'm quite concerned considering all other sports teams are named so aptly. Also, it's puzzling to me since sharks would have a difficult time surviving if their watery home were turned to ice.

I used to fear Giants in New York, but I never heard of any reports of them in these parts. Any sighted in San Francisco, does anybody know?

We had one of these indoor soccer things in Hartford many moons ago. It didn't draw flies.
It was funny though to watch their increasingly desperate ads in the paper offering t-shirts, balls, free food, 1/2 price tickets and all manner of other enticements to anyone that would come watch. No one did.

There are all kind of teams using much tamer animals as mascots anyway.

Yet, there's really not that many mild mascots at there. After all, even a Brewer or Padre can be mean and nasty, if provoked (for different reasons) and a Twin can be evil. And an Angel is sometimes avenging! The Saints, well, it all depends on which ones you are talking about.
