Another Phillies win, San Diego is down 3-2 in the 7th.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ROCKIES!

Edit: Man, I really would not want to play the Phillies if they make the postseason on this kind of roll. 12-3 since dropping the opener to Florida.

6-2 Rockies.

How great would it be if the Phillies won the wild card and played the Mets in the first round?

Would be great for Pat Burrell, he'd have the best postseason of all-time.

In other news, Ryan Howard has struck out 194 times. I have no idea how I didn't notice he was so close to the record.

Teams from the same division can't play each other in the first round. Plus the wild card is automatically the 4th seed, regardless of record, so the previous rule probably wouldn't be needed in a Mets and Phillies both make it scenario anyway.

Half game back of the Padres, 1.5 behind the Mets. Oh boy, here's hoping.

Since the Phils currently have three former White Sox on their roster (even though Garcia's done for the year), I am pulling for them.

I'm sure this will be blamed on the shadows but I counted 9 fastballs right down the middle of the plate that were either fouled off or swung at and missed in the 9th inning.

Wes Helms 9th inning AB was an absolute joke. Gonna need some help today from Florida and Colorado.

A big thanks to the Rockies this weekend, granted now we could use some help from the Dodgers to slow down the Rockies. Looks like we are now Nationals fans for the next 3 days.

Pirates, Nationals, Giants and Dodgers, Hope they each get 3 wins in the next 3 days.

Ryan Howard is about as compelling as the argument gets for little K's matter in the grand scheme of things for a batter. An out is an out. It's the quality of what you do when you're not making outs that matters.

I thought Bobby Bonds and Adam Dunn were pretty compelling arguments to begin with.

The seasonal leaders list is full of quality and great hitters. Also, somehow I never realized that Mickey Mantle had the career mark at one time.

6 games to go, all tied up with the Padres, 2 in back of the Mets. Maybe they'll get it right this year. Maybe.

I like both of these teams. But, since this is not a Pads thread........

Go Phillies!

Even if they fall short, I'm pretty happy with this season. If you had told me 6 months ago that the Phils would be tied for the wildcard lead with 6 games to go I think I would have been ecstatic.

When the Angels clinched their playoff spot, I know of at least one fan who was eckstatic.
