I don't know, I am really smelling something special... You know, I got that feeling on the inside that you just can't explain, the excitedness, that the season isn't over yet and I haven't heard any fat lady singing in the AL East yet.

We just gotta play one game at a time Win one game at a time

I think so too.
I think the Red Sox have a problem in bullpen right now.
With Okajima totally exhausting, Gagne not winning any trust or whatsoever in the clubhouse, we do not have the set up man we used to have in the first half of the season.
We all saw that in the first game of the last Sox-Yanks series when Okajima, a setup man, came out to pitch with the score 7-2 (I could not believe Tito made that move!) with no one warming up in the pen. I thought Gagne was hired excactly for that kind of situations!!!
Okajima needs some rest, and not getting it because Gagne is not even 70% of what Theo thought he would be.

Theoretically, redsoxford is right.
But something inside me tells me that it is far from being over.
I do not hear any fat lady singing either.

I am not confident with the Red Sox team right now, and I just do not think we can win it against the Yankees if we meet again in the playoffs.

Now I really feel like they can do it.
All we've got to do is score more runs than our opponents in each game and we're laughing...

Ten-peat??? That just doesn't work though. Ten doesn't even rhyme with re.

Gee, redsoxford!
I am trying to make all these Yankees fans believe that they can catch us here.
Just to make them feel the pain of "Hopes & Disappointments"
I think it's their turn to feel that!

Ahem. May I remind you two that your merriment at Yankee expense is taking place on the New York Yankees thread itself? There is a place for that, you know: The other, lackluster thread which was specifically created for Yankee-bashing. Find your own link to it, sirs.

Joe Torre recently talked about how much fun Alex Rodriguez is having this year.

It seems like a lot of the Yankees feel really good right now. This push for the playoffs could be a good thing for this team.

Watching the team this year compared to the past few years and it seems like maybe they became content with winning. Of course I could just be saying that because of what's going on right now. But I like the attitude.

The Yankees don't just play believing they should win. They play believing they have to win.

No arguing needed. Amazing things happen when the Yankees and Red Sox are involved. Am I wrong?

Alas, this seems to be common for both Red Sox and Cubs fans. Spending more time on other team's boards or threads bashing them than hanging out on their own.

It's funny for Boston when you consider they've spent more money throughout the years on players than the Yankees. Yawkey's teams regularly had higher payrolls than the Yanks. They just didn't know how to get winning combinations.

I've been reading several baseball history books, and it's also amazing that Boston fans STILL think Ruth was sold so Frazee could finance a play. That's been disproven, and is discussed in length in "Red Sox Century".

Anyway, back to the Yankees. Great game so far tonight!

Yeah, but with those guys it's more like kidding around with them. They are big Sox fans, they gotta be sweating now, by gum! Let's see if they are as cheerful tomorrow.

Mussina! Don't write him off yet, I guess.

Just to bring back a little quote most Yankee fans remember from yesteryear...

"We Play Today, We Win Today, Das It"
