The Sox climb out of the cellar, winning their second straight against KC.

Jim Thome hit home run #493, and Bobby Jenks has now retired 6 straight batters.

Ozzie Guillen used six relief pitchers over the last 3 innings.

So Ozzie Guillen is discussing using Jim Thome as a lead off hitter because of his OBP.

Why does it do any good if you're a leadoff guy who can run but can't hit or get on the bases? A lot of people are wrong about the leadoff man. A leadoff hitter should have a higher on-base percentage than anyone else.
I did some math, and figured that at his current rate, over 600 at-bats, Josh Fields would have 35 home runs, 107 RBIs . . .and 210 strikeouts!

Correction.

Holy living [EDITED BY MODS]

Josh Fields got the start in left today, and will probalby be out there for the rest of the year.

Mark that down as a sensible move by the Sox, one of only a handful this year.

Also, mark it down as another move that should have been made at least a month ago.

It is not Guillen's fault that the team has not executed every single time they get the chance. I truly do not blame any of this on Ozzie and I think his statements the other day were spot on. These players are all underperforming and are not worth a cent right now.

4 walks, 3 hits, 5 earned runs, one more stupid, stupid loss.

33 pitches, 9 for strikes.

I'd say it's unbelievable, but it's sadly all too believable.
