Cubby, thanks. I'd love to get my hands on that list. Email me at mikelowe47@comcast.net if you can find it. Thanks a lot.
One question about those park factors, since you've been testing without them, what kind of effect will it have? What changes if any need be made to ensure nothing gets "screwed up"?

Oh, and I checked, Julio Franco isn't retired, since their is no history besides past champions/records.
Speaking of, will there be any past league history involving an accurate hall of fame, etc.? |

I keep seeing you guys mentioning CubbyFan's 3.0 rosters. Where are they available? The link in Cubby's sig is for 2.5, as is the link at the beginning of this thread.

The link is for 3.0, he just didn't update the bit of text above the link.

Quick question: Is it possible to "scout nations" with Cubby's 3.0 rosters? I made sure the scouting system was on, and after reading the manual, it says this decision is made at the creation of the game. So obviously whenever Cubby set this up, he declined this option. Anyway around this?

I was wondering about that. I've been scouting D.R., Australia, Cuba, Japan and not getting anyone.

I think the "outside players" are disabled, but I was planning on turning it on when I create the new universe.

That would be righteous. I did find a work-around, by making your roster a template, and going off of it. But another question: how did you get the leagues to work with odd number of teams? I had to delete the Appalachian and Tri-gun leagues to get the template to work. Thanks

would "make fictional personnel contracts" fix this problem even if these contracts no longer mirror real life?

Is there a reason why facegen uniforms don't work in this set?

Cubby, have you had a chance to think about my last post? Our commish is waiting for me to dig up some info and I'm not sure what to tell him!
Thanks.

I started using Cubby's latest roster that's in his signature. In that roster, he has 2 Japanese leagues, but no other international leagues. So I sent 1 scout to both Japanese leagues, and the rest of my scouts to the nations, and I've eventually received reports back from all of them. My North American scout even came back with a 19 year old SS prospect who, once I signed him, became the #2 overall SS prospect in this "baseball universe". Since he wasn't available to be drafted because he wasn't "discovered" yet, I signed him right off the bat and now he's the top prospect in my organization, even better then my entire draft class from that season. None of my scouting reports came in until near the end of the season, so be patient.

gollum- In theory, at least, what you're saying should not be possible, since hidden players are disabled, so I'm curious to know more details. What country was your North American scout in? Did you find players in other countries as well? There shouldn't be hidden players in any country (in theory), and if you found some, either you've worked out a way to turn on hidden players after league creation, which I'd love to know about, or the game is creating hidden players when it shouldn't. In any case, I'd be interested to learn more details about which nations you were scouting.

Yes, I just noticed the option "Create Hidden Players" wasn't checked and was darkened out, making it impossible to enable. Anyway, back to my question though, how is it possible to create divisions or leagues with uneven teams? Every time I try to import Cubby's rosters as a world template, I get errors saying there are odd number of teams in a league. Any way around this without deleting the leagues?

When I loaded Cubby's roster set for the first time, I went in and turned global scouting on. I had read that people had problems, but I decided I'd try it and if it didn't work, I would turn it back off. I didn't even know about the "create and maintain hidden players" checkbox and just had to look it up in the manual to find it. They do such a good job "greying" it out in the game that I never even noticed it. And no, it is not checked in my game. As for my scouts, I have 1 head scout, who takes care of the next opponents and scouts the draft, & 1 "freelance" scout who I don't assign any regular duties to so I can send him out on quick scouting missions. Beyond those 2, I have an American scout who is assigned to permanantly scout the USA, a Cuban scout who's scouting Cuba, a Puerto Rican scout who is in Puerto Rico permanantly, and a Japanese scout who rotates through the *** & Ni-Gun leagues. I've gotten a couple of kids from the Japanese scout, but the SS I mentioned is from Aruba, so I think it was my Puerto Rican scout who found him. I signed the kid on January 8th, 2008, so it had to be right around January 1st that the scout notified me of his existance. I don't remember the exact details. I hope that explains it. If not, I can try to answer more specific questions, if I know what to look for in the game. And for posterity, here's my top scout's read on this 19 year old SS: http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/9765/loranpq5.jpg |

Yeah, in the first game setup screen, I think it's called global setup, is the check box to enable scouting. The hidden players check box is on the 3rd screen (players and faces?).

Got it- wasn't sure what you meant by 'global', but all is clear now. I'll check that out, and see if I get similar results.
