New League based on Softball stats

I am creating a fictional league for myself that is going to use Softball stats compiled on averages from 5 years of my Mens Softball Team. I want to know how to manipulate the formulas in the game to try and match them.

Here's a comparison:
2006 MLB stats
AB - 167340 or 167 per 1000
H - 45066 or 45 per 1000
2B - 9131 or 9 per 1000
3B - 953 or 1 per 1000
HR - 5386 or 5 per 1000
BB - 15847 or 16 per 1000

Softball Stats:
H - 550 per 1000
2B - 80 per 1000
3B - 40 per 1000
HR - 30 per 1000
BB - 50 per 1000

Strikeouts are rare in mens softball, so that's going to be a very low number.

Also, is there a way to manipulate a pitchers ratings so that they can hit better?

Any thoughts guys?

Test, recalculate, test recalculate, until you get a tweaking you like. That's what I do when I want to chane league totals.

Okay, thanks for the info.
Do you know how to manually enter schedules?
I can only get the first 3 game series done, can't figure out how to change the selected date to add additional games though.

Never tried. Give Le Grande a PM, he's definitely the schedule expert.

It is doable. I created an arena baseball league and the stats simulated were about right. You have to affect the quality of the players or shorten the season to make it so the players are wrecking havoc with the stat engine or throwing it off completely.

Making pitchers hit better is the hardest part, since in this game they are almost always bad.

The only thing I could think of, would be to create a small league, clear the rosters and delete all of the players and then just create the positions manually using the create player option. So then create all of your position players and then when you go to create pitchers, you can manually edit them..or just don't create any pitchers and convert the hitters you've created to be pitchers.

Might be a lot of work, but projects like this generally are.

Thanks for the interesting stats - they'll provide justification for a future project I have in mind.

One question - does your league field have 250-foot fences or is it an open outfield?

Roughly speaking, you'll want to edit the MODIFIERS (not the league totals themselves) to something like:

2B - 9.0000
3B - 40.0000
HR - 6.0000
BB - 3.0000
K - 0.01000
BABIP - .550

That's just a rough starting point for your adjustments. I wouldn't touch the hits modifier - just work with BABIP and K's to get the league average you want, that's how the game engine works at the most fundamental level.
