Emile Heskey out *&$^*&^ standing, if I live to be 100 I doubt I'll see a better performance by a player over 90 mins, even swallowed his tongue at one stage and still bounced up and carried on.

Didn't see the full 90 mins of the Man U v West Ham game but the highlights and stats I've seen suggest that Man Utd were all over West Ham, not seen the stats for the 2nd half but first half it was around 60/40 in favour of Man U and 15/3 in shots so you can't fault Uniteds game.
Still isn't over though as there's a meeting between the clubs on what to do next, I'm not 100% but I don't think West Ham are invited to the meeting

Wow, so it really wasn't his or the team's fault! For shame on those big bad teams wanting to do well for themselves! And how sporting of him to want the English team to lose in Europe. He's such a **** and I'm glad I won't have to put up with him as much anymore.

imo it was Benyaoun's clearence and not Tevez's goal that kept them up, United score then and they go on to win 2-0 3-0.

There have to be rule changes and a stronger leadership in the Premier League imo, West Ham got off simple as that and teams in the future should be docked points if they do what West Ham did, also this so called rule where teams have to field their strongest team should either be removed or should be enforced because at the moment it isn't.

I wanted to gauge interest in an idea I came up with to pass away the few months before the start of the next football season, if there is enough interest then I’ll make a thread on the OT boards but just wanted to see if there is interest before I did that.
I’ve taken the idea of the link I posted a couple weeks ago were somebody is trying to get together 50,000 football fans to buy a football club, we wont be buying a football club I mean I doubt the £9.50 we could raise between us would buy a football let alone a football club. Anyway I was thinking of using the same principal as what they are but using FM instead of a real club, I’d be the Manager and what this would entail is posting player reports, team tactics and so on and inputting them into the game. What you would do as a member of the club would be vote on who we sign, who we let go and what tactics we use in each game and also the line up in each game. How we would go about this is at the start of the season I’d do a write up on each player we have at the club and then we could look at the strengths and weaknesses of the club to decide what formation we will use and what players we need to bring into the club, then I’d scout transfer or free agent targets and come up with say 10 players at each position were we need strengthening and do a small write up for each player then we’d vote on who we go after. I’ve come up with the best idea I could to vote on which team we “purchase”, firstly what I’ve done is split the countries in FM into groups then whichever group wins we’ll vote on the countries within that group to decide which country our club will come from. Then what I intend on doing is looking through the teams within that country and coming up with a list and doing a small write up of about 10-20 teams depending on how many are in the league we choose, so we’re not voting on buying a Chelsea or Man Utd or Barcelona I’m going to put the maximum value of the team at £1,000,000 and that includes any loan debt they may have. You’ll find some countries missing as I want our team to go through the trials of promotion and relegation and as you know some countries have only one league within them so doesn’t allow for promotion and relegation, below are the groups that I’ve split the teams up into and it will be these groups that go to the first vote. To make it fair I’m going to ask you to pm me your votes and then when the final votes have taken place I’ll post the group that has won and also post the votes that you sent to me, this way nobody can be swayed in their vote and I’ll post the votes so that everything is above board, so to make it easy for you all you have to do is cut and paste the group list below and put a number next to it, 1 being your first choice 2 being your second and so on doh! Lol and then send it to me via a pm on this board. This is what your pm should look like, this also contains my votes so that people can’t say I cheated just in case there is a split vote. Group A South American - 4 Group B Nordic - 3 Group C Europe - 1 Group D Eastern Block - 2 Group E Rest of World - 5 Group A Argentina Brazil Chile Colombia Mexico Uruguay Group B Austria Denmark Finland Iceland Norway Sweden Switzerland Group C France Germany England Holland Ireland N Ireland Scotland Spain Italy Belgium Israel Portugal Turkey Group D Poland Romania Russia Serbia Slovenia Slovakia Ukraine Belarus Bulgaria Croatia Hungary Czech Republic Group E China Indonesia Malaysia South Korea South Africa |

Interesting idea for the FM game - count me in, and you'd probably get more people if you started a thread in OT too.

PM me with your votes on the groups, I wanted to gauge interest first as most of the people who will join will probably be of this thread so if I get 4-5 off this thread I know it will work.

So, Jewell is leaving Wigan. Too bad. I really, really, like Paul Jewell. Hope he turns up somewhere and has some continued (and greater) success than what was, generally, an outstanding tenure at Wigan.

Poor old Wigan, they've got Chris Hutchings as manager who, when he was in charge at Bradford a while back, won 3 whole premiership games. They are already 6/4 to get relegated next year.

Hopefully (but don't bet on it) he doesn't do a Big Sam and takes a break from football for family and health reasons for all of five minutes.
Hutchings bad bad bad appointment, hard enough for Latics to bring in top players as it is without having a no name manager, rather have seen someone like Ince, Simpson or Davies as manager. |

I'd grab the 6/4 because after about 2 weeks of the season they'll be 1/10.

Man City job is up, was up about 5 minutes after Jewell quit. Next season was going to be one of the toughest as the Premiership will be at it's strongest next season, can't see Wigan staying up to be honest but they will always have a chance against Fulham, Middlesbrough and whoever comes up from the play offs but going to be a long hard season next season for us Tic fans.
