Gameshark Review

Gameshark - A ("Anyone who's ever dreamed of running a professional team in some capacity, or anyone who enjoys fantasy baseball, baseball board games, or similar products, will absolutely love what OOTP 2007 offers. Any criticisms of the game are merely trivial; in the end it comes down to this: This is the best “fantasy” baseball gaming package ever created. ")

It's always nice to get an "A." Makes the GPA go up . . .

Great review, and very fair too. OOTP2007 is indeed an "A" game.

I also agree with the reviewer that it'd be nice in game to be able to graphically chart out each player's rating movements/changes over time! Well, maybe next year....

Hopefully these very positive reviews will continue to generate more interest in the game and expand this community. They certainly should!

Very nice and accurate review of the game and well-deserved if I might say so.

If he didn't prop up the game by posting the reviews, he wouldn't have a job.

BTW, on Metacritic, I found this handy list of sites that do computer game reviews. Marc, you probably have this already, but who knows, maybe it's helpful. (Of course, many of these could be just for consoles, etc.)

Well, I still don't look at it as patting yourself on the back. The game is great, there is no denying that.

Besides, I don't know how long you've been around, but he's done A LOT of damage control too...

I dunno, maybe it's different at SI, but where I come from it's the marketing guy's job to pat the company on the back for a job well done by calling people's attention to favorable reviews like this one, thereby promoting sales of the company's products. If anything, he's patting Markus and crew on their backs.

Edit: Oops, three minutes too late. Still, I'll let this stand.

Yep. But what's unsettling is that the reviewer, in panning the game, suggested that in lieu of playing BM the player should buy Front Page Sports or High Heat. HELLLOO!! We're over here! OOTP -- everything you were hoping BM was but turned out not to be (well, ok, you can't change the hot dog prices, but we think you can adapt).

I don't think he wanted to be accused of being in bed with SI and if he did that, that's precisely what people would assume. I noticed that too.

I think if you do the math after reading the OOTP review, it'll be obvious where people need to look.
