3 games on at the same time?? How stupid is that.

Hmm, Jersey vs. TB or Calgary vs. Detroit.. (I don't care about the Rangers vs. Thrashers.)

Aww, crap! I wanted to watch the Sabres and Islanders too. It's on TSN.

And of course sportsnet is covering the Bluejays and Tigers, my 2 favourite baseball teams.

I guess I'll flick back and forth between CBC, TSN and RSN.

Sabres are playing good, but I am surprised how well the Islanders are playing. They are playing a very smart game and limiting the Sabres' chances.

2-1 Sabres heading to the 3rd.

GO SABRES!

Well if you think that's bad you should have read the local paper here in Halifax today. The local MLA's were all in an uproar because Saturday's Pit/Ott game is on at 4:00 (local time) in the afternoon. They are upset because Sid the Kid isn't playing in the evening. Apparantly people are too busy on a Sat afternoon to watch hockey and it isn't fair that the local hero won't be on in the evening.

Man, politicians......... nothing better to do I guess.

Sabres lost tonight, but I am not worried. We were as flat as we have been all season. We weren't skating hard and our passes were sloppy. All that said we lost by only one and that was on a bogus penalty call where it was obvious Satan held Afinogenov's stick to sell the call. I must say DiPietro played really well with some huge saves. But with all the bad play and bad calls and the fact we only lost by 1 leaves me more optimistic than anything else.

I would just like to quote the last sentence from the ESPN recap of last night's Sabres - Islanders game:

Quote:
Islanders captain Alexei Yashin was benched for most of the final two periods, and finished with a team-low 7:07 of ice time.
Ted Nolan, you're my hero.

Flames embarssed two games in a row. Daryll Sutter, when the Flames inevitably go out, PLEASE fire Playfair!

You mean the Maple Leafs, professionals of golf in April? I guess everyone else just had pity for your "team"

You're right, it is embarrassing. I thought they would have gone out yesterday and cracked some heads but no, just lots of dumb minor penalties. And who is that Datsyuk that's scoring in the playoffs? Is he related to the other one they used to have?

Yup, shots on goal 101-36 to the Wings after two games. I knew the Flames are a bad road team, but I had no idea they were this bad. I saw highlights of game 1 during the intermissions of the 2nd Stars - Canucks game, and from those it looked like a 9-1 pasting that Kipper managed to reduce to 4-1.

On the other hand, it's the play-offs. Win two at home, and those two embarrasments are only a matter of historical record. This is what's so great about hockey from mid-April on.

Very true. Calgary need to stop trying to skate the puck through 2 or 3 Red Wings at a time. Just dump it in and start getting some pressure on the Detroit defense and Hasek for a change. Even if they don't enjoy a high success rate down low in the attacking end, at least they can do better when the Wings come back at them. As it has been so far Detroit just get the puck in centre ice and they're off.

Yeah but there is something mentally wrong with Calgary...they can't just turn it on and off like a switch.

As I said, I've only seen highlights of game #1 of that series, but even from the stats it's pretty obvious that they're fully able to turn it off.
