On the official SI site I have noticed a banner advert which says "20th April - 10am" and then has the official SI logo next to it so I am guessing this is when we will find out.

hmm, i'm not seeing that banner.

Maybe they've hired Jim Gindin and bought FOF!

I'll buy anything SI makes as long as it isn't programmed by Gary Gorski or Jim Gindin. Gary, because his interface sends me into an epileptic seizure, and Jim because his interface sends me into a narcoleptic seizure.

That has nothing to do with a new game

The new game announcment a few months ago was FM trivia mobile

Sid Meier's SimGolf was a fine game.

Actually I have just found out that the date refers to the day when the SI forums change to a "one log-in" system.

Yes, that is what I was refering too

I was really hoping they would help publish, F1CM but that is looking less and less likely and F1CM announced a short time ago they were dropping the official license which is both good and bad

The advert in PC Zone just says "World Exclusive from the makers of Football Manager 2007. Unmissable!! The brand new game from Sports Interactive - only in PC Zone."

So a new game is going to be announced it would seem and given that the advert is in the UK version of PC Zone you can probably rule out something that would have limited appeal in the UK (College Basketball for example).

Cricket, rugby, F1 perhaps?

Cricket would be awesome - and has a pretty large worldwide audience.

Thanks I needed a laugh.

To answer this thread's Q, it'd be the following:

Hockey (take OOTP's strenghts, combine them with FM, and you have a winner that would blow EHM out of the water IMO)
Rugby (hey it could work)
Cricket (unless they're trying to only get US market share)
NASCAR, although I dont' really know the viability of the text sim marketplace for that.

I know this probably sounds dull but I would LOVE a tennis game. Id love to be a coach and watch my player progress. Theres lots of stats you can analyse in tennis and lots of matches. Id love to take a young star and raise him up to the grand slams, and then maybe move on and be federers manager, etc.

Cock fighting. I don't think there is a good text based sim of such an ancient underground extreme sport

Blood Bowl... with the customization and unlimited possibilities of OOTPBB, of course.
