I am shocked that none of the historical simmers caught this (guys?). It is a huge issue for the reasons you stated. If you want to have a move feature that stores the previous records and starts a team fresh with a clean slate that is one thing, but dont force the every team in the league to do it.

Agreed as well, consider it me being paranoid about last year and what I perceived to be a bad year for the historical players.

To echo ctorg, I'm not 'upset' considering this is a function the game didn't already have. I just think that it is a good candidate for a tweak in future updates because it is inconsistent with MLB recordkeeping.

Beta folks, could someone please log this in TT, just so we don't lose track of it? Thanks!

Not directed at you Claymore, but this is a phrase we can do without. I hope someone of import can post to that effect at some point. Technical issues and their associated discussions - whether it be design decisions or simply a 'buggy' point - are much more quickly addressed without anyone excavating the past looking for blame or explanations. It's a waste of time and just exacerbates everyone's tensions, especially those trying to help.

Another voice added to the chorus of people requesting this be changed. Willie Mays' records for the NY Giants not showing up in the history of the SF Giants? Doesn't make sense.

Yeah, this is something that absolutely must be changed. As a design choice, it is an odd one.

Odd it may be, but not unprecedented. I subscribed to "The Baseball Digest" for about a decade. Once a year they did a 'franchise records' issue, and they did things just the way Marcus is. The 'current franchises' were listed first, followed by the 'defunct franchises' (1901-2 Baltimore Orioles, 1969 Seattle Pilots, etc.). So, SOME people DO record history that way.

Well, it's not the way the stats are officially recorded, even if some people record them that way. Official franchise records include years played in other cities.

See, now this is just inconsistent. If it sims out one way, it should import the same way. I don't think anyone would like to see automatic team relocation starting a completely separate franchise to store the data with when they're simming. Likewise, the import should work the same.

Sure, you should see the way I record a scorecard, but it isnt the offical way, which is the way that should be supported. Some leagues use a DH, some don't. I don't like the DH. If I was to create a baseball game however, I would include the DH as an option.

This was claimed fixed in the first patch and verified by the beta testers. If you continue to have trouble with this issue, please contact a moderator to reopen this thread.
