Hey Skydog,
I started with a fresh download of v1 and everything worked fine. I don't know if I screwed something up on the original or what. But, it's now fixed Thanks for all your work!! Paul |

FYI, I had a great 100-year sim overnight, that I believe will require only one small tweak. I made that tweak, and started another one. Assuming this one goes how I think it will, I'll have version 1.01 (which should be my final) posted before today is over.

I ran two more quick 30 year sims... I found that increasing the doubles a bit from where they were and decreasing the K's a bit got my ERA's up to a level I was happier with without messing up the batting stats too much.
I suppose some of the problem is the known issue of too much consistency in pitching for OOTP, that makes sense. Part of what bothers me is that I just can't imagine a starting pitcher having ERA's of 1.25, 0.98, 1.47, 1.82, 1.14 in a run of five years (actual numbers). The closest I can think of would be Koufax in his last four seasons but that proves the point that this shouldn't be common to have a run like that, it should be one pitcher in 50 years. Anyway, tweaking the settings seemed to help that situation out. Getting better results now and looking forward to 1.1. |

First post updated with 1.01 (and I think final) settings. Pitching is a bit less dominant here. Approx 20 ERAs under 2.00 per 100 seasons (with 24 teams).

Anyway, looking forward to trying the new settings. It's nice having someone simming these since a 100 year sim takes a really long time for me, I can only really do 30 at a time. |

These tend to push things toward the middle a little more, but keep the possibility of outliers alive and well. For example, the top five (24 teams) from my current season:
ERA: 2.45, 2.59, 2.70, 2.72, 2.74 K: 276, 268, 244, 233, 221 IP: 264.1, 258.2, 258, 254 WHIP: 0.99, 1.01, 1.05, 1.06, 1.10 AVG: .342, .342, .337, .330, .330 HR: 40, 37, 37, 36, 36 RBI: 119, 114, 112, 111, 111 SB: 62, 62, 50, 44, 44 Despite these rather unremarkable numbers for league leaders in this given season, it's still possible to have a rare player come along and hit .400, steal 100, hit 60, have an ERA under 1.75, or strike out 320. |

Thanks again for doing this, SkyDog.
I noticed that from 1.00 to 1.01, you changed the baserunning / SB settings significantly, both in strategy and player development. Why? And are you happier with the total number of SB this way, as well as with the individual performers? Thanks again.

I want to know this as well, do I put these settings for all the minor league teams or do I only have to put it for the main major league? Also, do I check on Automatically Adjust League Strategy setting? What does that do? |

How are you getting a 100 year sim done overnight?
I'm running a P4 3.20 Ghz, two processors with 2 GB RAM system and an imported fictional 24-team league from v6.5. I've added a full minor set (ghost players enabled) and a Japanese and Cuban professional league. I've turned off the almanac. I was only able to get about 50 seasons overnight. Just about everything is off on the PC before I let it run, though the antivirus is still going - I'm wondering if that's it, but would be curious if other people are seeing sims slow, or if it's just me. I'm running with the same settings as in the 1.00 version, though I upped the stolen bases to 1.080, I think. Did have a total flash in the pan guy, though - 76, 80, 68 homers - had 480 homers over like 6 seasons, then was done. Thanks! |

Turn FaceGen to only create faces on demand.
Make sure you're not doing any data dumps. Make sure your sim screen is set to the fast option (in Preferences). Be sure that you're only auto-saving once per year.

![]() Incidentally, in 100 seasons with the 1.01 version of the settings, I had only two guys hit over .385: one guy hit .391, and the other hit .419. Now THAT'S an outlier. |

Ben, have you seen any evidence of what I have bolded above in any of your test leagues?
