System Specs - Holy Cow!
Is this actually true?
Windows Vista or XP, AMD or Intel Dual Core 2GHz, 1GB RAM, 1024x768 32Bit display, 1GB HD Space, MS compat mouse & Keyboard My lesser PC did not have any problem running 2006. Is the higher specs for those who convert to Vista? (I hope).

Specs are the same for 2007 as 2006...
The ones you mention is the recommended Vista spec. XP runs well with a slower processor and 512 MB of RAM. |

That's pretty intense. My computer can just barely meet them. But 2006 ran well enough, so I guess it's fine.

I've been testing with 512 RAM with no problems at all.

My computer is a slow POS, 512M Ram, P3 800 (I believe, been a while since I saw it), with Win 2K... I have no problems running the beta, it's just as slow as v2006, but it runs.

I've been testing with 240 MB Ram, about 500 MHz processor speed and it still gets on fine. Don't try 10 leagues, obviously.

It really is. I can drink three beers before the end of the 2nd inning. And every Steve Trachsel game takes 5 hours!

The game will run on a 128mb RAM machine. Some things that you will not be able to do with such a PC include but are nt limited to:

This is a hidden rating and even if it wasn't, it only comes into play during player brawls, which IMHO, are rather poorly implemented still. The fighting controls make the Atari 2600 look like the Playstation 4, although the gore factor is high.

Note: the blood, while there is lots of it, is green.

But Coldwater Tide gets it out as long as you don't let it sit too long.

this is kinda off-topic, but it's prob. not worth it's own thread.
My 512mb RAM runs OOTP functionally, but not too well (it sims decently fast, but there are random long pauses where it just "hangs" there) I've recently purchased another 512mb, which will be shipped soon. How much of a difference will doubling my RAM do for me in this case. |

It's important to note that there are a number of in-game factors that affect how fast the game sims: 1. How many leagues/teams do you have? 2. What are the stats level for each league? 3. Are you generating HTML or CSV exports on a regular basis? The first two of these greatly impact the sim speed and the amount of memory required to run it. You can run a very basic league with low stats level rather comfortably on a fairly out of date machine. If you want to model all colleges feeding into MLB with full 5-tier minors, Japanese leagues, and more all on very high stats detail, you'll need a much beefier machine.
