And only one more year with Wood as well. lol.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone else converting Wood to a reliever by now is a little too late?

Well, this is at least something good that happened today as the Vikings continue to get pwnd by bad football teams... time to bunch the Vikings in with the worst of them.

Who is A-Ram's agent? He played this situation out like a genius.

Please don't tell me it's Scott Boras

I also imagine Cabrera's shot past Wright and Rodriguez in Silver's estimation since the article was written back in April.
I agree. I was just joking. It is a Page 2 article.

It's Paul Kinzer - I really don't know much about him, though.

As for the re-signing, I am quite surprised that he didn't at least talk with other teams. . . Very happy, though

The poster gave a poor estimation of Ramirez's stats.

Ramirez has been a .900+ OPS guy for three seasons with a better than 100 OPS+ for 5 of the past 6 seasons. He's 28 years old now. Defense notwithstanding, if you project Ramirez's carerr on an average aging trajectory, you can make a better than average case for him to be in the Hall. Say 2500 hits, 430-480 HR, and 1700 RBI.

Quoting out of context pisses me off.

There's no possible way you can tell me he was good in April/May of 2006. When the guy a team relies on to carry the load can't even get on base at an average clip, he's not coming through. He was atrocious in April, had a solid slugging percentage in May (but his sub-.300 OBP brings down his contributions), and he wasn't exactly stellar in June, either.

I wasn't making a commentary on his hitting w/RISP for his career or anything like that. I was simply pointing out that when Derrek Lee went down this year, Ramirez needed to be the guy to keep the Cubs afloat. He didn't, the Cubs fell out of the playoff race by the end of May, and that's when he started hitting.

True words. Hitting after May is the definition of unclutch, green go.

Therefore, Aramis Ramirez = Brian Anderson!
