I don't think the claims were ever refuted by someone from SI which is why I continued them here. Apologies - as I said I've only ever purchased CM & FM (mainly 'cause dad's from Bulwell) straight from the UK.

Apologies for any misinformation.
It was here, and in this very thread...

I had a Spectrum game called "Head Coach" for crying out loud!

I mean the change to "soccer" and all that, yeah, but that one change makes absolutely no sense, and I'm curious to find out why, and if it's an SI decision or higher up's that decided.

At least Digital River are gone. God they were attrocious...

Bababui: The UK language pack was NOT included with the game. I had to download it seperately. Then when I had a major system meltdown and had to reinstall, I couldn't find the language pack ANYWHERE online. Fortunately, after two hours of searching, I remembered I'd burnt it to disk.

I'm just gonna import... Easier. Can easily have multiple an install on my 3 different systems if I want. No faffing around with licenses, plus a nice physical disk and manual.

I don't like ordering the physical disk. I've had stuff from England never make it to me, and you're left with no comeback. Plus buying online licensed stuff is instant. (Admittedly I miss the expectation)

We'll wait and see I guess.

This year I ordered the boxed version from the UK. Shipped on Wednesday from Gameplay... Hope to have it by the end of the week. WWSM wasn't even a choice, as Amazon.com says they only ship it within the US, and Amazon.ca don't even have the game listed. (That site has BADLY started to suck.)

Something struck me, and I don't remember if I said it before... Why have the phrase "head coach" when the GAME ITSELF HAS THE WORD MANAGER IN IT?

Idiocy. Look forward to playing a proper English speaking game out of the box.

The CD version of WWSM will have the UK English language pack, while the digital download version will only have Spanish and US English.

I live in Michigan and ordered FM07 from Sendit but I still don't have it yet. I received an email on the 17th that it had been shipped. Hopefully sometime this week...

It is absolutely amazing that a management sim has "grey players" on teams in the Champions League and the major international nations.
I'm just flabbergasted at it tbh.
I downloaded the 'DDT Generator', took 5 minutes to tick every remotely decent footballing nation (and a few non-decent in certain continents to get a broad spread). I am running a game with England playable down to Div 2, 9 other European leagues top division only, view only. Game runs at a good pace, and I have 55,000+ players loaded instead of just under 6,000 with only 5 or 6 countries loaded and no DDT.

Where did you download this from? Every FM board is either overloaded or taking forever to load.

It describes the program being for FM2006, but it works fine for FM2007.

As an experiment, I just created a DDT retaining every club and every nation in the game. Only generated a thousand or so more than the 55,000+ I had on the previous, so I must have picked the geographic spread quite well the first time (selecting a few countries in a continent retains players from other clubs/countries in that continent).

Attached is a 48kb DDT file that gave me the 55,000+ players. Rename removing the .txt, put it in the data/DB folder.

Hey thanks redmarkYankees! I don't have FM 07 yet but I plan on using this.

Try the DDT file above, or if you want something more medium-sized with specific countries/regions, let me know.
