Oh wait.
Kennedy is a lot better against righties though.

Yep, this year lefties are hitting .326 against him while righties are hitting .220.

It wasn't pretty, but he got out of it. At least we are not currently losing.

You know how the dirt area around homeplate is a huge area at Comerica Park.. are there any rules as to how much of the infield can be dirt? Certainly it can play a factor in the game depending on what kind of players you have. Not that it shouldn't be allowed, I'm just wondering if there are rules about it.

Bobby Kielty should be hitting here. I don't care how good Kotsay is defensively.

Kotsay strikes out.

Bobby Kielty's .965 OPS against lefties must be wondering what it needs to do to get in the game.

This is one of those times where I think Macha must be trying to make the A's lose. He's doing the exact opposite of what is logical. It's like...you couldn't suck this much if you tried.

I think he saves Kielty for Jimenez's next spot, especially if there are runners on.

Which is dumb, unless another lefty is brought in. That won't happen.

That was the spot for Kielty. It's amazing how many games a manager could potentially cost his team by putting guys in the worst possible position to succeed.

Edit: And Calero should've started this inning.

Yeah, I just don't see him pinch hitting for anyone else.

Oh goodie, Macha is bringing in Street to blow it.

No offense, but I'm thinking Beane and the A's know more about the value of defense than you (or me).

Yeah, what would the A's have done without Payton and his superior defense out there to misplay a ball and give up a run?

Payton? But weren't you (and others?) arguing Kielty should be in for Kotsay/

The difference between Kotsay/Payton and Payton/Kielty really isn't as significant as the difference between Kotsay and Kielty vs. LHP.

Macha has gone away from what won them 90+ games. That's one of the main reasons why they're losing these games.

If Scutaro swings at the first pitch, I don't care how many walk-off hits he's had, I will hate him more than any other A.

Scutaro may have popped out to end it but Frank Thomas killed that inning.
