I know you want to be like David Eckstein. It is fine with me if you give me the complete ratings. Last edited by Eugene Church; 09-12-2006 at 08:56 PM. |

He is doing well for the Boston Braves in my Alltime Allstar Association. I'll let you figure out his stats. I have played only half of 1904. Why can't you post something without it getting all askew? Why don't the columns stay straight? Anyway, who are the "Yankees" in your league, Eugene? Have any predictions?

It's a good thought though. As far as who were the Yankees of the Test League...Cold Creek Catamounts made the playoffs 24 times and won the title 5 times...Arlon Champions were 16/5...Kenwood Wildcats 21/3...North Hills Hawks 17/3...Ozarka 12/3...Ranford Bulls 28/2...Oxford Red Caps 25/2...Rocky Rapids Snappers 24/2...Colfax Blasters 24/1...Wynnamac Sundowners 28/0...Arroyo Grande Suns 27/0. Shipbuilder and millionaire Brent Steiner's team, the Bayview Vikings, never made the playoffs in 50 years. (George Steinbrenner is where I got Steiner's name). It would be nice if the real Yankees went 50 years without making the playoff. I don't care for Steinbrenner...but I like Joe Torre a lot. But the Yanks were much smarter than the Red Sox this year. They went out and made some good trades for Abreu and Lidle. Last edited by Eugene Church; 09-13-2006 at 03:15 PM. |

Would be nice to see Cold Creek keep that up when the games start for real.

Jeez Midway didn't make it once in 50 years? Damn...I suppose that's kind of good for me though because, while I won't be making the playoffs, hopefully I'll stay a starter because of lack of back-up competition lol

Nice to see Arroyo Grande make the playoffs 27 times in that stretch, but oh man... no title? That hurts.
Hopefully they'll pick it up in the real version.

Oh ok thanks Eugene.
Hey I'd rather have 27 playoff berths in 50 years with no title than 6 playoff berths with no title. |

I have decided to do a Pre-History League, starting in 1898.
I will play town leagues until 1920, then switch to company leagues, when they first started legal payments to ballplayers, and finally, begin the professional league in 2001. I am hoping the game will let me change the pre-history league structure and convert it to the final pro league structure. I want all of the history to be contained in one league. Yesterday I set up a town league for each of the 60 towns. Each town league will feature 4 teams...some of which have been mentioned in the town write-ups. I thought it would be good to actually play out the town teams' games and get "real" history, rather than just "creating" it myself. I would have real stats and records to refer to...both for the teams and for the players. I will have 2 subleagues...Ruthlandian and Tycobbian...30 divisions in each...4 teams in each division...teams would only play in their town division during the regular season. Then I would have have a 6-round playoff to decide the Islandian winner. Single game playoffs. Regular season would consist of 24 games...8 games against each division rival...4 home and 4 away...only one game a week...played on Sundays. The next big hurdle will be to do a manual schedule, so that teams will only play games in their division. If anyone has any ideas on the quickest and most efficient way to create this season, I would sincerely appreciate it. After that I have to edit a lot of the names in the league...I don't care for the names in the game's database...too many weird ones for me. I like Smith, Jones, Brown with an occasional offbeat name...and Tom, Dick and Harry for the first names. The offbeat names just show up too often for me. Chredwdew did me a fine database containing only US-British-Irish-Scottish names, but I have to figure out how to get it in the game. It is great and I would not have to edit many names in it. I will just add Hispanic, European and Asian names myself. The Game's Name Database would require me to edit over half of the names...or more. Anyway...What do you guys think about this pre-history idea. I know it will put off putting your name in the league until I get to 2001. Maybe I could put some of your ancestors in during the pre-history. Let me know what you think. I am tired of preparing for this league. I am anxious to get started and playing some games. Please bear with me. Opening Day 1898 is coming to a ballpark near you soon. Last edited by Eugene Church; 09-16-2006 at 02:09 PM. |

I think that the extended history sounds awesome, if you could manage to pull that all off.

The pre-history idea sounds excellent! Cant wait for this to start.

Eugene, will players be drafted or must we pick a town?
Is their trading between teams and between leagues? |

I will make sure you are the starter at the position you pick and give you the ratings based on your description of your talent. No, I will not have any trading. The only way anyone will change teams will be if they are released to the free agents pool, then other teams could pick them up. I will do all lineups and personnel changes for all teams. I do not use financials or trading. I will use injury. Last edited by Eugene Church; 09-16-2006 at 08:56 PM. |

Just thought I would let all of you know, who wanted to play in the league, that the Islandian Pro Alliance will begin shortly.
Everything is ready to go. All I have to do is put you guys in as players. I got 22 that said they wanted to play in the league. I will give you your suggested ratings and assign you to your requested team. Thanks for participating. Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-20-2006 at 01:48 AM. |
