Pinch Hitters

A "clutch" rating on the player.

A pinch hitting lineup under depth charts. Very important!!

Since there's no evidence this exists any more than statistical noise would predict?

You'll get "clutch" players with no 'clutch' rating as long as you look hard enough

Any feedback on this list? What options are going to be included in this version? Next version?

I wouldnt mind seeing a clutch rating based on past close/late situation stats. This rating could give you an idea with a quick glance of who has been "clutch", but not affect future performance. A clutch rating that artificially rases a player's ability in close/late situation stats would be a step backwards IMO.

I think there needs to be some sort of rating that can affect a player when the pressure is on, especially in post season. Otherwise a good player will always be a good player, but with some sort of clutch rating, you can have a player play well when the pressure is off (2003 Cubs) and get crushed by the pressure when it piles up (2004,2005,2006 Cubs)

Player Agents would be a great feature...

players could ask for more or less $ based on their agents and their feelings towards your team, etc...

one pitch

the option to play games in one pitch mode.
Trading block
weather
bullpen warmups
Better divisional alignment. For some reason I put too much effort into planning out teams, and where I want them to be. I decided to let the game do it. I got Jersey City (NJ) and Anchorage in the smae division. It doesn't work.

Dare I say it? Sound. Say what you will I like having some kind of sound, even if tis the old OOTP 6 style sound.

The chart on the player page which tracks batting average development. Would be really nice if other things were added as well (Homeruns, OPS, RBI's, whatever)

My apology if this has already been posted.

I posted an earlier post in this thread, but need to elaborate.

I am not bashing the game, just getting my opinion posted in hopes V2007 might include some of the good points of OOTP6.5...like its Leaderboards and League Leaders Screen...and sorting options...simple sorting options.

The stats presentation in V2006 is really something to behold.

It is fantastic and mindboggling in scope...and really great, if that is what a person wants.

But it is not very functional and useful for me. It gives me far more info that I would ever want, but not what I need to enjoy the game.

Just give me a listing of the top 10 on the Leaderboard.

Also let me sort by top 15 players in a category, top 30, top 50 or top 100 as you could on the League Leaders screen in OOTP6 and let me sort them by "all" players, "qualifiers" and "rookies".

I don't need all these views, filters, scopes, etc to enjoy the game.

For simple people like me, please keep it simple.

Just watched Big Papi do it again.

Anyone tells me there's no such thing as a clutch hitter, and I'll send 'em his highlight reel.

- Better Navigation - takes too many clicks, from screen to screen, to do simple things, like releasing a veteran player (9 clicks), promoting player to 40 man then active roster, etc. In 6.5, most of these could be done drag & click on a single screen. Far too unwieldy now.

- Roster visability. In 6.5, I could see and manage my entire roster from a single screen (Transactions). Now, only 4 teams (or other categories, eg DFA) are shown at one time. Have to keep toggling back and forth from the "Affiliated Teams" drop down; far too complicated; get all 6-7 teams and categories on one screen, even if small type

- Memory - Needs to keep track of 'where I was' before last click, ie, if I'm checking my players on the Transaction screen and click on 2B'man 'x', when I right click it goes back to top of roster screen... annoying. Similair in other screens

- Common sense - Program should default to most obvious data, ie, if I click on Pitchers in Free Agent file, I should see pitching stats or ratings; if I next go to batters, I should see batting stats or ratings; but I don't, I see whatever the last screen was, in this case I'd get pitching stats for batters... annoying

More Navigation - On free agents, All Players, etc files, I liked the 6.5 format where they were in a continuous list that I could scroll down. In 2006, they are on 'pages' that I have to click to change... annoying

Spring training - Liked being able to adjust what someone works on (don't know if it worked, but liked the idea). Also, the report on who got better/worse

Scouting Report - Can live w/ the new numbers approach, but liked the 6.5 word approach more. Believe, however, that you should eliminate the ratings for coaches/scouts. In real life, Scout 'x' doesn't have a precise rating; at best, "experienced" or "inexperienced" ; or "good", "ok", "learning". A scout - or coach - who is recognized as a '3' or such doesn't get work. Maybe have it set up so I can note which scout did a good job and keep track of this; then I form my own opinion

Rankings - liked 6.5's Power Rankings and Minor League System rankings. It was a way to see if I was improving based upon roster moves

Finally - Wasn't in 6.5, but would like to see a "notepad" on each Player Profile, where I could make notes to myself, eg, why I drafted him, what a scout said about him 3 yrs ago, other stuff that have to remember now
Great post. I agree the navigation it's too involved inorder to get from one place to another. In 6.5 you had one screen to get everthing now you have to go to multiple screens. And being a programmer myself I would think that when you went from batters to pitchers it would adjust the view instead of you having to do it.
I would like the scouting reports in a seperate screen as well and what I miss most is the 7 day lineup since my league simes a week at a time.

I don't know if this has already been suggested but...

A "compare to" feature present in Worldwide Soccer Manager where you can compare a particular player's ratings, etc. to another player. This feature may be useful during a trade.

Oh, I agree. I don't want it put into the game. I saw Ortiz follow "the script" again and blast another game-winning 3-run HR Monday night, so I thought I'd make a silly comment.
