Difficult to say, other than the usual IT Helpdesk suggestion, of try again.

Your first problem would be you're trying to import historical rosters into a fictional league. Unless you accidentally typed that and meant to say historical league. I wasn't even aware it was possible for the game to allow you to try to import historical players into a fictional league. You're supposed to click on the add historical league button. Then go from there.

If you're still having problems then your PC is either super old and slow or there's something wrong with the database/game/your PC.

The historical databases don't have minor league players in them. In past versions people would just leave minors empty and use ghost players, which isn't possible in this version, or they'd fill the minors with fictional players.

Once you've done the basics and return to the 'league creation' screen, there's a button bottom-right to add minor leagues.

For todays standards, yes it's old. If it's from 2003 it should still be able to run the game though and not be too slow. If it's from 2001, I don't know. That might be pushing it.

every other aspect of the game runs smoothly for me. Its just when it comes to importing the players its runs very very very slow.

A few others I've talked to have had problems with the Lahman database being slow as well when it imports the players. I'm not sure why this is. I use Ankits DB and have no problems.

Smile Historical team additions?

Ok...finally decided to "jump" in...New to the boards as far as posting, but have played OOTP on and off for several years..Love it and am loving the new version..Anything worthwhile can be a tad frustrating for sure, but after all this is a game designed "for thinkers" by "thinkers"..Ok, enough on that, what I wanted to ask was : Can I start an historical league and import teams one by one instead of a whole leagfeu year?..In other words create a league with say, the 50 Phillies, 87 Mets etc??? Thanks..!

I haven't played around with it enough, but it certainly puts some real minor league players in. As for the rest, I don't know whether they're all real or some fictional. I'm not the best person to ask . It does give you a proper minor league setup at least, as opposed to a "reserve" roster.
