Replacement Names Help

I am trying to use the replacement names file to start a new fictional league. When i generate the initial players there are nothing but american names. Any ideas?

Okay it appears the issue is the year my league starts in which is 1900. Anyone know if this league file goes by the years names came into the majors?

Can you link to the file, please? If I were replacing names what I'd do is use my Data Generator and then import the csv with the replacement names into the game.

EDIT: Oh, you're talking about MD's set. Well, those files will only create those names after you install them, not before. Try installing them first, then creating the league. I don't think whether they'll work should matter on the year (I started a league with my name set in the year 1001) and I'm certain what names get generated don't depend on the year.

If you want to change names after the players have been generated, then you need to go the importing csv route.

I tried using it on a new universe set in the 80s and i got a mix of player names. Tried again in 1900 and got just the american names.

It's a year-based thing.

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

The game changes how much it uses each file based on the year in a fictional league? I thought you historical guys just swapped in different files when you wanted to.

Well, I guess if gocubsgo wants, he could change the names in the main names files to include the names he wants to see in 1900.
