The later in the draft they go, the better they draft, it's quite comical.

I'll probably stream it online while I play Civ.

The Packers have done a decent job of addressing their needs at wide receiver (Rod Gardner), defensive tackle (Ryan Pickett) and safety (Marquand Manuel) this offseason. Still missing, though, is an impact playmaker on defense. Ohio State OLB A.J. Hawk would be tough to pass up, but Williams' ceiling is higher because of his freakish combination of size, speed and athletic ability.

It's definetly between Williams and Hawk at that pick. There's rumors Williams may not be there and in that case Hawk is a no-brainer for them.

If both are there it basically comes down to if they want the safest pick in the draft (Hawk) or if they want to take a chance at POTENTIALLY getting the next Reggie White. Tough call either way but if they feel the need is greater at DE they should go in that direction and try to get a good LB in round 2.

Personally I think it's a deeper draft at DE than at LB so unless they get lucky and a guy like Carpenter falls into early round 2 they could struggle to fill the LB need in the 2nd round. If that mock draft held true they could get the kid from BC or Hali from PSU at their pick in the 2nd round which IMO would be quite a pick either way.

FWIW, Kiper just said on Sportscenter that he thinks the Packers will take Hawk at the 5th spot.

It was the 2004 draft. They had 6 guys go in the 1st round.

Sometimes I wonder, though, how good these guys are. Kiper is amazing at knowing the players, but IMO, Hawk could EASSSSILY go #2 to New Orleans.

NO will not draft a QB
OLB is a bigger need that OT or DE

However, there is more depth at OLB and NO could grab Carpenter, McIntosh, Howard, in Round 2.

But Mario Williams isn't something NO needs. Hawk would fit perfectly.

Yep. The draft is must-see TV every year as far as I'm concerned.

I never miss the NFL draft, at least not the first round.

On a side note: I wish "Dud" Selig & co would strike a deal with ESPN to televise the Baseball draft. I'd watch that, too. It's fast-paced compared the NFL draft and would lack Mel Kiper Jr. Doesn't get any better than that.

I always have the draft on in the background while doing stuff around the house.

If they get him, I'll do a backflip. I'm pressimistic and I think San Fran will grab him.

The past couple of years I have had a baseball game during the draft, which kinda sucked, but this year I'll be able to watch it. I'll most likely watch the first round, and then try to watch as much as I can after that, but it kinda drags on a little.

I'm really hoping that the Vikings take DeAngelo Williams, or Ernie Sims if he drops that far, which seems unlikely now.

Houston Texans might trade down and Draft Vince Young and trade Steve McNair to Jets for their first round Draft Picks and then the Jets could trade Chad Pennington for a couple of Draft Picks!
I like to see when the Quaterbacks are drafted!
If I'm off the on the first day of the Draft I watch it if not when I get home I turn it on! I sometimes will watch day 2!
Chris Berman only works day one and not also day two! It's shown some on ESPN and the rest on ESPN2!
Why would the Rams want to draft a Quterback in the first round their allready have Marc Bulger and Jeff S. as future!
The problem is with the MLB Draft been shown on TV is that it isn't before the season and can't make trades in it but I would still like to see it on shown live on TV! Chris Berman would be the host of it! Peter Grammons could his top list of Pitchers and Players still left on the board,Jsson Stark could report on the High Schoolers in the Draft,Tim K. on the International in the Draft,Buster O. could report on the Trade rumors,Steve Phillips or Buck Martinez or Harold Reynolds could give their reports on the person just drafted or team needs!

Anyone else plan on making a party out of the draft? I personally plan on having some beer and appetizers and just make a day out of it. That may sound lame, but I'll enjoy it immensely and I won't be hurting anyone by doing so. It sounds like I'm going to be the only one home the first day of the draft as well because my brother is going to a prom in Wisconsin and my parents are going to the girls house with him to take pictures and visit with her parents. So it'll be good times.

I know what you mean, that Donovan McNabb proved that.

...and I won't be hurting anyone by doing so.

Unless your back-up plan includes microwaving kittens or tea bagging elderly people, I'm not entirely sure that tidbit was necessary.

Watch it every year. This year I'll probably end up watching both days to see where my boy Jovon Bouknight falls.
