Stacy,
I got it to work with my eight team league - just told the macro not to do teams 9-16. Maybe all you'll need (once it works for 32 teams) is to change one macro for smaller leagues. Henry |

Thanks for the info Henry, I'll give it a try. I'm surprised the 1st sheet worked properly with blank lines.

BTW, in the latest version (not posted yet), the players whole name will appear if you output the Player HTML pages. Right now it only shows the first initial instead of the first name. I'll try to post an example later today.

A post for thirty team leagues
Whoa - sorry, didn't realize it was such an involved task. If you've tried expanding it to thirty teams, though, and it works when using exactly 30 teams, is there any way you could post that file or e-mail it to me? That assumes of course that you still have a version of that saved. I imagine that would work for anyone running leagues from 1998 on, of which I assume there are quite a few, and it sounds like you've already done the work. Again, I can't stress enough how impressed I am - I've been looking for something like this since I first heard about the concept of Win Shares!

Actually, all I did was remove the references to teams 9-16 in the macro - not the spreadsheet

If you want, I'll upload the spreadsheet to my website so you can take a look at it,

Shouldn't be hard to reproduce if all you did was comment out or remove the calls to the subroutines. I figure when things quiet down tonight (I'm currently working), I would give it a try myself.

Hi all, Chad here, haven't checked this thread as I'm out of town for the holidays.
My initial idea on the smaller league topic, if you had fewer teams than the max (currently 16), was that you could just delete the total lines for teams 9-16 and it should work. However, I didn't try it with the most recent versions. Edit - delete after importing... |

Oy...
Why do the fine utilities everyone makes never work for me? Stacy, I'm getting a run-time error "76". I have no idea why this is. I'm running Windows XP Home with Office 2000. Peace John |

Two more quick things: one - just making sure you know DH'S cause problems - if they haven't played a single defensive inning their stats/win shares get messed up, and their name is blank in the BWS list. And two, tried expanding myself to 30 teams and had no luck whatsoever - I don't know what I'm doing at all. Just keep up the great work and keep this thread updated with new developments, but that's definitely my top request (even moreso than the DH thing!)

That's what I get for never playing a league with DH's. Didn't even think to test it but it should be a quick fix.

Stacy,
When I save the file as a web page (HTML), it works beautifully and I am able to view it in all its glory. When I email this file to others in my league, they get a "Page Not Found" error when trying to view. Any idea where I am messing up?

Stacy,
I got them to work. I'm very happy with them. However, I came across another stumbling block. The files add up. I know that really can't change. The 2003 season, currently 1/4 of the way through, is 5.6MB. I don't think it'll get any bigger than this, because the only thing that changes is the numbers. However, for the historical portion of this project, it could really add up. That said, I'd like to pick your brain. What idea did you have for guys like me, who want to use this for a huge amount of seasons? I'm curious. And, how much size do you think it would take up? Peace John |
