Unhappy No More Awards?

Create a game (part 2)

This screen shot shows that when it comes to awards there are still only 4: pitcher, batter, rookie, and fielding. No more? Now that there's managers why not have a manager of the year award? What about a relief pitcher award? Post season series awards? That's something I really like about Catobase, being able to create these awards. I mean if we're going for more in depth here why not expand in the awards department also?

p.s. We could always toggle them. Can we ever have too many awards?

There will be new awards:
Rookie of the Month
Manager of the Year

Maybe I'll add more... but that'S not a priority right now.

Id like to see a Reliever Award, maybe Comeback player award or atleast something generic we can make whatever we want out of it. Also allow selection of the awards by the player or atleast editing of the award winners.

Can we get corporate sponsorship for awards, like Viagra with Comeback Player of the Year?

Fireman of the Year or some reliever award would be nice.

Can we get an actual MVP award? Editing the Outstanding Hitter Award and having it be the MVP in name only is very unsatisfying.

I think that we should take a lesson from http://www.mlb.com and its "This Year In Baseball Awards" promotion. Some of the awards are actual awards given by MLB, but there are some that are not, i.e. blooper of the year, etc. I thought we could take their list, and make it the list in OOTP for league awards.

How about for online leagues to have the option of having an in-game ballot for owners to vote for various awards and then FTP to the commish. The league setup menu would allow commissioners the options of which awards they wanted to use.

Indeed rather than simply more awards I think people generally have wanted more control of awards (like being able to define their own awards and the option to pick their own winners) and greater details in the results (like top 10 vote-getters lists as opposed to just the winner).

At least that is what I have hoped and would like to see if this area does become a priority.

That would be cool, i.e. define an award, define the set of stats, and have the game calculate who gets it. Sorta like a schedule editor but for awards.

Manager of the Year is great. Finally Managers will play a bigger role in OOTP .

Some good ideas in this thread. I'd definitely like to see a reliever award, and postseason MVP type awards. Also, being able to see the top 10 with how many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place votes they received would be very cool as well.

I'd like to see the game continue to pick awards so we can go back and see what it thought, but I'd also like a set of awards for the same things that we get to pick too. It would be like how there's a set of awards determined by managers and another set determined by the media or some other group.
