Markus, I have compiled much-improved sets of Japanese names (with the aid of F. Montoya, who lives in Japan, and one his Japanese students) and Hispanic names (with the assistance of several Hispanics). I am almost finished with a a much-improved set of European names (all I am doing now is making sure the frequencies are correct). I will post them when done and email you a set which you can then use in the game.

Trust me, they are all far better than the current name sets.

Here's what I'm wondering:

Given that the game will provide different league settings (you know, offensive levels in the PCL vs. International League, etc.) will we also be able to have translated stats? So I can compare normalized stats between different leagues?

Very much looking forward to the game!

Actually, a baseball "World Cup" during the pre season every 4 years would be pretty rad.

Hmmmmm......... ....two letters, one number...... I'm stumped. Unless you mean the number is a two digit number? Maybe?

Do you mean like this?

Or is it the mention of only being a minor league manager that has you wondering?

Anyway, I'd just like to say that

I wonder if anyone is feeling ambitious enough to get an online setup with multiple leagues and relegation. Would require quite a few owners to make it workable with 3 or 4 leagues.

Some things:
1) You do not need a team as the commish, so you can sit back and watch.
2) League totals still work the way they did before. There is no way I can code it so that you type in the desired final stats, and the game delivers these. But there are now modifiers. So when you want 10% more homeruns, enter 1.100 The game does the rest for you.
3) There is probably no need to add new cities to the database, but you could since it's CSV based. Remember, every city in the world that has 1000 or more habitants is included in the database.
