I was going to play some EHM but these screenshots have me drooling and thinking of baseball. Many cool things in there but I really like seeing the list of scouts. I am assuming this means we'll be scouring the high schools, colleges,
Latin America, the Far East, and any other place in the world in real time as our seasong progress. This is huge No more wondering what sort of list of players will just "appear" when it's draft time. We will have been observing them
for months or perhaps years before they are even eligible for the draft

If this is the case though will players now be created at about 14 or 15 years old (freshman high school player) and then start their development cycle from there? Or will they just come into our scouts view as they hit 17 or 18 and are about to graduate?

Are we going to be able to merge our current League(s) into this new version, or will we have to start a new League?

Thanks,

Rob

Going through the blog entry and the new screenshots this customization junky is really loving the new interface. Practically everything I've wanted for the last few years with respect to the interface is in there:

-advanced player filter
-filter and sort remembering
-selectable displayed columns
-right-click popup menus
-bookmarks
-recent screens
-search
-tabs
-more menus so you don't have to go through so many to get what you want

Thanks guys!

You can import your OOTP 6.12 and OOTP 6.5 leagues into OOTPBM 2006!

Can someone answer this? I'm definately incline in hearing this. I want to scout a 14/15 year old kid and in turn see him turn into a super star!

Also, you know how at the beginning of each ammy draft how you see the players stats. Can you check out the player's high school stats, etc...?

Forgive me if this has been covered in other areas of the board, but is this version going to incorporate head to head finally? I mean, all these little cosmetic changes are nice and will make the game more mainstream marketable, which is great, more revenue means a better (and hopefully cheaper, but I won't hold my breath... ) game later...but what about H2H?

Ouch! Markus completely re-writes the game and it's dismissed as a "little cosmetic change"? Tough audience.

Well, rewriting the game engine goes on "underneath the hood," so to speak, so it is hard for the non-programming gamer to appreciate what difference it makes. Not that I am having any doubts myself!

Markus, it would be nice if you took up the issue of the "beneath-the-hood" changes to the engine in a future blog. I know that you have made comments on this before in the OOTP6 forum -- maybe you could just plagiarize yourself and save some trouble!

I like the new look of this forum, BTW . . . .

I must be the only person that likes the current interface more than the new one.

I see no problem with the current interface by any means, but if the new one means exponentially more features that Ive wanted...Ill deal with a more complex interface...Im assuming Ill figure it out after awhile.

It looks like everything i dont like about the current ootp games is gonna be fixed. My main issues were with the interface and how it wasnt as smooth and easy as the Football/Championshio Manager series. Now it looks perfect! Keep up the good work.

The game does feature drag & drop, for example in the team lineups screen, just like OOTP 6 did. But now you have right-click menus as well, which list all functions that are available for you in that case. For example, when you read the latest box scores, and your no.8 hitting catcher went 0 for 4 with 3 K’s the third straight game, you can right click on his name and demote him straight to AAA from the box scores! If real life would be that easy, Mr. C. Guzman wouldn’t be too happy…
This got me excited. Sounds like it's going to be very, very user friendly.

...full screen mode supports a resolution from 1024x768 up to 1600x1200. And the graphics do not get stretched in bigger resolutions, which mean that you actually have more space for stats when you run the game in higher resolutions!
Sweet! This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks very much!

But the real question -- to my mind, the most burning question:

Will the new game no longer crash after a screen saver kicks in?
