Control conversion bug = 1 which was fixed, still affects new players

In 6.00 and a few other early releases there was a conversion (from OOTP5 --> OOTP6) problem which set pitchers' control ratings to 1 on the 1-120 scale. This severely stunted their development and either made them extremely late bloomers, or useless, never to appear on a major league roster.

This problem was fixed in a later patch, 6.03 I believe.

The problem still exists, however, in newly-created players, with the latest patch of 6.03.

If you look at the game-created amateur draft players, you will notice more than a few pitching prospects who were initially created with reasonable Talent ratings, but a Control rating of 1 across the board.

In testing I've done recently with 6.03, it looks like these pitchers will ultimately suffer from the same flaw as the 'converted' pitchers we saw when upgrading from OOTP5 --> OOTP6; the fact that their control rating starts out so pitifully low on the scale makes it unlikely that the pitcher will be effective, even if they start out with a high Talent rating in control.

I don't see any signs of this issue being fixed. All control ratings of 1 I have seen in my league have not moved. So all 5 star, 4 Star etc players won't ever develop. I am bringing these posts back to life. Please fix this, major flaw.

This fix was to re-import using the non-broken 6.11 importing when that patch finally came out. My online league gave up on a patch, imported with 6.03, then a few weeks later 6.11 came out and I forced them to start the season over.

Yes, that is absurd that 6.11 took months and months to come out, but the only fix now is to manually edit any pitcher with a 1 for control to a 2 (or higher, for compensation).

They'll advance normally from there.

Is this fixed in 6.5a? I can't believe that something so important as certain pitchers not having a chance at developing was not fixed for so long!

I looked into this further and although it was not guaranteed that these players would not develop, there did seem to be a significant difference between them and even players with only a 2-9 control ability rating on a 1-100 scale when you'd think there wouldn't be much of a difference. Our thread on this is at: http://kbl-ootp-online.com/forum/vie...hp?p=5026#5026

EDIT: We were talking about editing the ratings in the two leagues I'm in as we thought it was guaranteed they would not develop, but now I've changed my mind. I still think it might be something Markus should look into, but as I'm very much against editing ratings and there is a chance, albeit it slight, that they'll develop, I can't justify editing the ratings even if just to a 2.

actually I havent ran into this issue in 6.12. I had a releiver that started out azs 8/1/4 over 10/8/10 and he's developed control, albeit very slowly. Took two years to bump to two (his other ratings had almost peaked), and is now 10/5/9
