What printed publications do you use to get the latest game information?
PC Gamer What websites do you use to get your your latest game info? Game Rankings.com, PC Gamer.com, Cnet.com, Game FAQs.com What printed publications do you use to get Baseball info? Sports Weekly is by far the best as it is timely and informative and has sections on fantasy baseball as well as the real world kind. It does not come close (obviously) to the timeliness of the internet What websites do you use to get Baseball info? USA Today, MLB.com (good for getting stats other then year to date, for example last 7 days and last 30 days), Yahoo.com, Rotoworld.com, Rototimes.com, Fanball.com What are the biggest and best fantasy baseball sites around? Rotoworld.com, Rototimes.com, Fanball.com Any other info about where a North American baseball fan gets his Baseball fix from on a daily, weekly or monthly basis is very much appreciated. Fanball.com sends daily news reports to your email and is very informative. Rotoworld.com gives this information on their website as well (Rototimes gives the same general info as Rotoworld.com)

What printed publications do you use to get the latest game information?
Computer Gaming World What websites do you use to get your your latest game info? Gamespot.com, gamerankings.com What printed publications do you use to get Baseball info? None What websites do you use to get Baseball info? baseballreference.com, baseballprospectus.com, http://www.all-baseball.com/cubreporter/ What are the biggest and best fantasy baseball sites around? i've used yahoo Any other info about where a North American baseball fan gets his Baseball fix from on a daily, weekly or monthly basis is very much appreciated. I get my fix from watching the games and from the coverage that each game gets. One thing that separates baseball in this regard is that there are SO MANY GAMES. 162 per season + playoffs. That's like 5 or 6 times/week for 7 months! And even though a season is clearly more of a marathon than a sprint, mainstream media treats it as a sprint. This gives it an interesting dynamic to a degree not seen in most (if not any) other sports.

baseballprospectus.com -- sometimes, for their stats analysis baseballthinkfactory.org -- links to media stories from around the US (mostly), knowledgeable posters on message boards fanhome.scout.com -- message boards per team, and miscellaneous general boards including a v. interesting one on sabermetrics that I don't have the statistical background to keep up with well. Some well-known statheads from around the 'web contribute there (tangotiger, etc.) baseball-reference.com -- historical database espn.go.com/mlb -- the online sports media giant sports.yahoo.com/mlb -- cleaner presentation of boxscores Quote:

I just use websites:
Baseball-Reference is by far #1...I use it to get my players ratings for my historical leagues...it is invaluable...it is so good and so helpful, I am going to donate $100 to it...wish anyone of you who use it regularly would consider supporting it financially, too. http://www.baseball-reference.com/ Very distant seconds: BaseballLibrary...Baseball Almanac http://www.baseballlibrary.com/baseballlibrary/ http://www.baseball-almanac.com/play...hp?p=wilsoda01 ESPN.com for sports scores...Baseball Tonight to see the highlights (it is too fast moving and too VH1 in style...wish they would tone done the music and screen changes, the graphics and overly cute commentaries...it is so overproduced that it is irritating). http://espn.go.com/index.html Minor League Baseball for coverage. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/index.jsp LogoServer for sports logos research...to get ideas for custom made logos for my leagues. http://www.logoserver.com/ Sports Nicknames....for nicknames for my teams in OOTPB. http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/9735/ SportsLogos.net...a great site for logos and uniforms ideas for MLB and fictional OOTPB leagues. http://www.sportslogos.net/ Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-22-2005 at 03:41 PM. |
