My first thought is that you hit the HTML button in teams when there was no RETIRED PLAYERS folder. Also, depending on how many retired players you have, .it may take a while. It loads in each player and pulls his name out.

My league has a player, and I am not making this up, called Pooh Furey!

I could actually write a function in my program that would change the html files to point to the photo folder, but then the html files in the league folder would not display the photos online.
Could make it a toggle. I mean it's not a BIG issue, it's just a little annoying. (OOTP is full of annoying little stupidities like this.)

Uploaded an EXE update. Just unzip the EXE to the OOP 1 folder.

What's new? The #3 and #4 draft picks are added to the TEAMS page. Click on where it says #1 draft pick to change it to #3 and click on where it says #2 Draft Pick to change that column to #4. Debating if I will be adding #5-#10. That would be 10 more text boxes to load and hide and also have to retrieve the data. Have to see how long it takes.

Enabled the INJURY REPORT button. This will display the injury report for any player, active or retired. It is pulled out of the player info in the P file or R file. I know this is displayed in the history file, but this just displays the INJURIES only. It can easily be copied and pasted.

I will be changing the normal history report that happens when you click on the name. I think it may be wrong sometimes. I have it looking in the PLAYERS folder. When I wrote the INJURY routine, I have a nice routine to pull this information out of the P or R file.

I am going to examine the team injury files, as I suspect that there are injuries that are listed there that are not in the player's history.

Next is going to be a little tricky. I think. It would be a salary history report. It would look like this:

2000 $300,000 (minor)
2001 $300,000 (minor)
2002 $5,422,000 (2 years)
2003 $5,422,000
2004 $5,422,000 (Extension)
2005 $6,999,000 (Arbitration)
2006 $300,000 (minor)

Eventually, all this information will be wrote to an HTML file(s).

Also, when I wrote the routine to pull the injuries out of the P or R file, I noticed how I can modify this routine to rewrite the development page.

No update: But new thing for next update: In the team section, it shows everyone from THAT team that holds an Major League Record. Pretty cool. I have the AL done so far for the season records for pitching and hitting, but need to add the single game records for hitters and the national league side.

Here is a screen shot: http://www.sim2005.com/oop17.jpg

It keeps getting better and better.

I decided to add the FIND ORPHAN option. The reason? Well, why not. It may not take as long as I think to find orphans, plus, it would only have to do it once. I think the NEW SEASON option would find the new orphans.

I was checking out one team's #1 draft picks and in 2003, cleveland picked a RF, but his player stats were not coming up. So I traced him back and found that he never made it to the bigs. He played on 4 teams over 4 years. He quit when he had no team, just as I suspected. A 'bug?' does not write anywhere that he retired.

I cannot get the player rating or development history to display any numbers for any players. Is this still a work in progress on this function or is something wrong?

Everything else runs great. This is going to be a super utility. Amazing what more you learn about the league when stats are sorted and organized differently.

Ras, no, the ratings should work fine. It is complete. What is happening when you hit the rating button?

Back burner feature, but maybe one of interest to someone other than just me.

Would like to be able to pull out a player's number of multi-HR games, i.e. in how many games did a player hit more than one HR. Would this necessarily have to be a line by line result showing all the games of incident, or could it be somehow secured by total only? Ultimately, it would be great to see how many times it was two and three, but as I said....back burner. Way back there. Just ideas. Keep up the fine work.

I looked at the ratings and did make one change. It no longer displays 0's for the seasons that they player did not play. I noticed that if you were in season 30, the 1st 30 listings would be zeros, so your player would not really be displayed.

The latest EXE contains the fix. I also will be redoing the retired player section of that.

I am going to expand the report for players more, one of the ideas was 20/20 30/30 40/40 50/50 club, player of game totals, player of week totals, etc., so that would be added then.

I searched for the player. Click his name and the ratings button. It displays all the seasons of the league, but the fields are all zeros. The one player was a multi-year MVP so he had some playing time. I'll try again. Perhaps I did something wrong.

Everything else worked great, however.

Looks to be coming along great. I'm excited about the future of this utility, particularly player development tracking. My dream utility would export HTML player pages that would contain player development, awards (MVPs, GGs, All-Star games in particular), leaderboard appearances, career statistics, and unique accomplishments (3 HR games, cycle, etc) all in one file. And the utility could optionally be set up to export to a server to overwrite the OOTP generated player files, so that you can browse your roster normally, but clicking on a player would bring up this alternate player page instead.

If this ever happened, I'd probably never do anything except for play OOTP.

misc: The FPS Biorhythm (http://www.silverbox.com/biorhythm/i...playerpage.jpg) utility makes a rating colored blue if it was in the bottom 2% of the league that year and red if it was in the top 2%. It was a really neat feature. Nothing too important, but if you run out of ideas...

One other feature in that program is probably a little more sensible and practical. Notice the separate "ratings delta" line at the bottom which shows the difference in ratings from the previous year to the current year, not unlike what you see in EA Sports' Madden football series. That would be a nice addition to the program so that one could have an "at a glance" look at how much/fast the player is improving or declining.

edit: Also, you could borrow a bit from the up-and-coming player ranker utility that thomamon is working on to provide an "overall" rating by the player's ratings each year in the development report. Biorhythm did this with the pictured "Nyman" rating and it was the most useful thing ever. When looking at trades or players in general, having a quick one-number rating for that player on the development page was awesome.

Are you saving the player files in the almanac? By default it does not save them. If there were not saved, it would display all zeros.

Download the latest EXE file and copy it to the OOP 1 file and see if it does the same. Is it just one guy or all of them?

You might want to add the reminder to the help text file. I failed to save the player reports in the Almanac settings, so that explains the problem.

using the latest .exe file

#3, and #4 draft picks are showing the same players
also clicking on another team just adds to the list of players it doesn't remove team #1 players (this is only a problem with picks 3 & 4)

when looking at a player, clicking on the injury history places the "player injury report" text above the field and when going back to ratings the ratings headers don't show up the injury text stay there.

good stuff keep it coming

Good bug find. I repaired both. Also added Salary information under ratings. Looks cool. (not fully tested, but it 'should' work fine.)

The EXE is ready for DL.

This version also shows the start of the record holders for each team. Busy work week for me, not much time to work on my good stuff.

Here is a screen shot of the players screen with the salary information.

Yes. I will add that. I wish it defaulted to being on, but what can you do.

You may want to do what I did, create a new season and run several years. I was into year 15 of a 100 year sim when I noticed mine was turned off. I think I said 'crap'.

I am running this 2000 fiction league and I think i am about into the 12th season. I need to sit down and run about 10 seasons. Might do that this weekend. Have to see how the program runs after 40 or 50 seasons.

If someone has a LONG season somewhere with the almanac turned on and player reports turned on, let me know!
