Gauging intrest in a league i'm looking at forming
Ok this is what i'm thinking.
typical league with six-ten teams, based in the early 1920's, no financials, full minors, canadian cities (the basis of why you'll see in the next paragraph) and the like. however, for each draft class, you can watch them develop before they're available, for the players that will can select from will all be coming from the CUBA You can scout to your hearts content, see how they do, and even find yourself rooting for some teams. So if tehre is any intrest let me know in this thread, and if I can figure out how to do this without it taking five years to setup, then we'll get started. NOTE: Preference will be given to members of TWB, pro-curcuit, OTBA, and the CBL. I figure since they allowed me into their league, it's only fair. It doesnt mean that you shoudl sign up if you're not in these leagues, just rewarding those that took a chance on me. EDIT: Ok this is who has shown intrest so far CUbsLose Cooleyvol squirrel_king cjperritt goroyals Hoopscoach RBLwebguy JDOldSchool i'm looking into how to transfer folks from one league to another so this is the delay. So please bare with me here

If this gets up and running I'd love to join my first online league. Definitely in need of a OOTP challenge and this idea sounds great.

Hello!
I would love to be a part of this league, especially being a proud Canadian! I was just reading the CUBA thread, and think this is a really cool idea! AIM: squirrelking0212 email: writing_to_reach_you_@hotmail.com Go Laurier! Last edited by squirrel_king; 05-20-2005 at 11:05 PM. |

I'd be more concerned with Birmingham's Black Stockings if I were you.

Sounds pretty cool creed.
As a fellow PC'er and now TW'er, I'd better get a team! And hey, lets not forget Louisville- 1901 will see the Luckies challenge! |

Good luck with it!
I don't have time for another league, but I'm curious, what cities and team nicknames will you be going with?

teams will probably be based in larger cities that woud be able to sustain a pro team circa 1920's
so for sure at least Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. The rest are literalyl up in the air. It depends on how many folks that we get intrested. With roughly 200 "retirees" a year coming out of the CUBA, players wont be an issue. as for nicknames, I think i'll leave that to the owners as long as their period specific.

Havent really decided on how the town size will affect market size or loyality, but i'm looking at having ti so if there's unis there it'll help with loyality or market size or both. also going to have rulings where if you want to have your team in a city that has one already (like new york is), it will lower the market size/loyality by a certain percentage, depending on the town size. So having two teams in say montreal would be good for both, while say two in belleville would be financial death.
