Hmm, let's play "Count the MD Aliases!!", also known as "Count the Trolls!". Let's see, there's 1, there's 2..

EDIT: I think some of things MD said were fair, but I just don't like how he presented his case. When you speak with an obvious slant people tend to give your words less weight. I'm sure MD realizes this though and if he's fine with that then so be it.

Boy, I HOPE you didn't just imply I'm a MD sock puppet. I delurk only rarely, but I've been on this board for a pretty long time. I knew Malleus Dei, Malleus Dei was a friend of mine (well, not, but just for the sake of the ripped off quote), and I am not Malleus Dei.

No, I was calling you a troll. You were doing alright until you got angry. To be honest though, the first part of my post wasn't contributing much positive value other than a poor attempt at humour either and so that's why I made the addition. This thread would have been better if it stuck to the facts and left out the impassioned opinions.

This thread would have been boring, too... oh wait, that must be the troll talking. Seriously, the only part where I got mad was where that dude started straw-manning. The "STFU NOOB" thing was just a (failed, I guess) attempt at humor. See, I was PARODYING the internet 1337 tr0ll. I am not one.

Would there have even been a thread then?

Yes, I think so. MD had some good points. I just don't like how he dressed up the facts in opinionated clothing is all. For instance, he could have left the "IMO OOTP6 is better than Puresim" part to the last, had a title of "OOTP vs PureSim" as well as rewording some other things. That said, I don't think lynch had to jump on him and woof didn't have to jump on lynch and so on and so forth.

I have downloaded Puresim three times. I have tried to run current/ historical and fictional leagues in all versions. I can't get the game to give me what I want out of a sim. One league I started gave me a team with a $181M payroll that was rated 25th in the preseason rankings.

On each of the three occasions I've downloaded the game has frozen or produced a corrupt file, requiring me to download another copy. OOTP on the other hand allows one to start multiple leagues that have a semblance of reality, with ease. OOTP is not perfect but what do we expect for the $. The enjoyment/$ index is way up there. Puresim is not out of the running but right now I don't have the time to use two Baseball sims. So they lose, this time.

I thought MD's comments were right on for the "middle of the road" OOTP user. If there is such an animal.

Puresim has a financial coefficent that works now. You can go to 1% of that number.

As for the crashes, I've played for 3 years and never had anything like you described.

Okay, I need to apologize for trolling. That wasn't my intent. I was trying to add a little humor into a thread that had gotten rather contentious. Sorry if I offended anyone; I did not mean to do so.

Not well. I haven't figured out how to make it work on this board. I click on his name and there's no ignore option.

Lynchjm24 pulls this bull on the PureSim board all the time, routinely jumping the OOTP advocates there and generally making trouble for people who post things he doesn't like to see posted. I was really hoping not to see him on this board.

I can't believe I'm responding to someone who posts 'woof' in most of their posts. I've been posting on this board for years and I would hardly say I jump on OOTP advocates on the Puresim board, as I often times agree with much of what they have to say. You don't read very well do you?

I've been posting on PureSim board as long as you have and have watched you jump those whose have a different opinion than you do, just like you did here. Get over yourself. The world is not all about you.

I'll woof if I want to. At least I don't bark at people like you do.

What the hey-o is this guy talking about? And in a larger sense, does it really matter? I don't care if someone says "Napoleon liked to eat Popsicles" in 90% of their posts; if they make cogent arguments and are entertaining to read, what's the big?

Puresim has added the ability to turn off finances. If you don't want to use a beta version of the game, you might want to wait until the latest code stream goes final.

Funny that you would wait until now on another board to decide you are ready to comment.

You still don't understand what my point was in this thread. While I have a different opinion of the game then he does, it isn't why I replied to him in the first place. I thought I made it pretty clear that I think his post is a cheap shot at the game and it's purpose is to keep people from trying the game.

Now if you would please ignore me like you threatened so very many posts ago, I'd appreciate it.

When you click on public profile, there is a link in there to add to your ignore list.
