Congratulations, winners!
Here in Boston, the Curse of the Bambino continues. We've never put SP Babe Ruth on our 26-man roster, which surely explains why we've never won a World Series. We do have an OL crown from a few seasons back, though, so the Curse seems a bit more forgiving than its real-life counterpart was.

Thanks for the advice. I agree that it's becoming more and more obvious that Willie Mays will show up pretty late and as a some sort of reward thing. I understand they didn't want the flood of multiple cards for each player, but I think the game could live with two versions of certain cards. Then again, I guess the powers that be at OOTP are running a business and see their strategy this year as contributing to their model. I may take a look at what you suggest. I'm guessing I am close to some of the paths you mention, given how many players popped into the Mundys' minor league system when I submitted the collections I had completed. I have three 99's and a 100 Trammel down at AAA. Perhaps this weekend, I'll take a look. |

I don't know if you've checked since league play has started, because the schedules frequently change. For example, this morning when I posted the B233 layout at 6:45 a.m. the Mundys had no OL games in April or September, but in checking today after work, they now have three games in April and I think 29 OL games overall. This morning it was at about 20. Also, Inland Empire, the other lonely outpost, went from about the same to where they have more than 30, I believe. So, if you haven't checked after 10 a.m., there's a decent chance that things have changed. Of course, it could also be for the worse. |

I share your frustration at the operation of the Friends List, but I wouldn't look for any change. I think what we've got is all we'll get. Since its addition to PT, I have, on at least 10 occasions, offered suggestions/wishes for improvements. I have yet to have one of my posts even acknowledged as having been read, let alone being commented on.. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 06-14-2021 at 11:20 PM. |

Mundys are Early Leaders in OL B233
Port Ruppert swept its only series against Left Coast for the percentage lead, but Cleveland got off to the most prolific start.

Gold league:
Cedar Rapids undefeated in OL play to sit atop the standings. The Mad Brewers appeared to make a near-full tour through the OL teams, playing everyone except Cedar Rapids and Waffletown; and the Syrups have yet to see any OL action. |

random fyi for anyone around... apparently still slots available in the PTCS tourney for the Gold tier... last bunch of these filled up quick, so surprising there is still some spots open.... signups closing at noon est, so just under an hour to nab a spot as long as they last or until the top of the hour
haven't messed with the gold tourneys yet, but figure I can try to toss a team together and see what happens.... |

Posting this only because it may not ever happen again, LOL. My three teams in PT at the moment...
Gettysburg 21-15 (First) 1/2 game lead Cleveland 27-10 (First) 7 game lead Baltimore 21-17 (First) 3 1/2 game lead (sipping champagne...)

Annandale just completed a complex series of player transactions and ended up acquiring Jackie Robinson, who will start at shortstop for the Atom Smashers.
From all the packs I've been pulling I had completed approximately half of each of the 3 Negro League missions, so I was able to finish the missions one-by-one, sell each reward card as I acquired it, and use those PP to complete the next mission. I finished the outfielders mission yesterday and put Oscar Charleston up on the AH, where he sold this morning. The profit number below depend completely on how lucky you've been in pack pulls (for example, I have Cool Papa Bell and so the cost to acquire him is not included below) but as it turns out, completing the 3 missions (and selling the rewards) netted me 110k PP and the Jackie Robinson card. So that worked out really well. |

Port Ruppert Holds Onto OL B233 Lead
The Mundys ran their OL win streak to eight before falling to Route 66 and kept the top spot, as the race widened. Cleveland slipped to third, getting swept by Inland Empire in their only three OL games in May. Those Wranglers streaked into the race with an 8-2 mark.South Holland won four-of-five, while Gettysburg moved into second by staying on the sidelines.

As Annandale continue to smash stuff in the league, Cary built a firm lead in the OL race.
The dust is still settling, so hopefully things will pick up for the teams that are struggling a bit, though I'm fairly certain that won't be the case for (rubbish)Pax(luck)ville!

I have no answer as to how Annandale has been doing so well. Have only made teeny tiny changes to them in the past week.
I like to think I'm not superstitious but I completed the FH1 mission to get Ken Caminiti, who was a favorite player of mine - he was on many of my baseball sim teams in the late 80s when I was in some online OOTP leagues so I get the warm fuzzies thinking of him. Prior to getting him, I was all about replacing Jimmy Collins with him. And now that I have the card, Collins is playing like a demon (12 HR in 48 games for instance) so I feel like he has earned the right to keep playing! |
