NABO48 w/ MLBPA ... Updated for '26
North American Baseball Organization
48 Teams MLB Players Updating this for OOTP '26 Original can be found here .... https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=351245 ![]() League background featuring the league logo and the cap logos of the 48 teams in the organization. Like the other organizations i've done from earl weaver baseball to OOTP, city and team nicknames start with the same letter and have city/regional themes. ![]() Team financials based on metro population, fan loyalty, fan interest. The emphasis was on creating realistic financials for the markets, resulting in the larger markets having an initial advantage for realism. Likewise, the inagural draft order was sorted by metro population and a straight draft was utilized. Major markets should have a distinct early advantage. ![]() ![]() Team idea is a tribute to the movie "The Natural", featuring the fictional team New York Knights. I found a logo that incorporated the lightning bolt, also from the movie, was a bonus. Last edited by circlechange11; 07-09-2025 at 01:29 PM. |

![]() ![]() I've always used a Gargoyles team, going back to the Hardball6 days on PC. Most often using the predictable Batman theme/colors, with NABO I went Joker colors to change it up and keep the color/uni style of each team unique. Last edited by circlechange11; 07-09-2025 at 01:36 PM. |

![]() ![]() A long, long, long time ago .... like the 90s ... there was a sports simulation series called "Front Page Sports" and, of course, like most games back then ... they did not have MLB licensing, so they could not use official team names. So, we made fake names. I came up with the idea of having the Philadelphia Freedom ... only I'd be super creative genius level, and have f sound be a Ph like the city name. Years later, it's not as brilliant as I once thought, but it's stuck with me from FPS, to high heat, Tony2, and on and on. Last edited by circlechange11; 07-09-2025 at 01:42 PM. |

![]() ![]() I've most often used the Boston Bayonets as my Boston/Mass team ... with it being a play on the Minutemen aspect of the city, like many others. But then I found this "B" logo that I wanted to use for the cap logo, so I switched to the Beacons. Now, I've seen others have used the same nickname, and I believe it's the nickname of a college in Boston ... so I apologize. Last edited by circlechange11; 07-09-2025 at 01:46 PM. |

![]() ![]() I've always wanted to use a Peregrine (falcon) mascot for a team, as they're the fastest flying animal on the planet. Something like 122mph on a dive bomb. So, in a sport relying more and more on velocity, it makes even more sense. Looking around for information on Baltimore, to avoid using the traditional "Bay Something ..." nickname, I saw that peregrines were common to the area, and the Baltimore Bombers made their entrance into NABO. Originally in the '24 version I had some other smaller regional teams, but for the '26 version, I used the 48 largest metro areas in North American, except for Riverside/I.Empire, CA and some cities in Mexico as those areas already had multiple teams. ![]() ![]() A franchise I've used forever. The whole idea of aliens and corn fields. I tried to Make the "I" in the cap logo look like a "beam" coming down from the space ship. |

![]() ![]() Found this logo awhile and wanted to use it, and never really had an idea until NABO '24, when I researched Pittsburgh/Pennsylvania and discovered that "Penn Porkchops" are a thing, evidently from the Dutch ancestry or something. Regardless, it's a great logo and allows for a unique color scheme, that's not too much of a stretch. |

![]() ![]() I've always used "Motor City" instead of Detroit or Michigan because it's just a cool city nickname with deep meaning. I'd have used Motor City Cobras in tribute to Thomas Hearns (huge boxing fan in the 80s), but the naming pattern doesn't fit ... so, Motor City Machines. |

![]() ![]() I would imagine quite a few people have used this logo for a Canadian-based baseball team, it's just too good not too use. I edited and cleaned it up a bit as it was quite busy. But, still outstanding. |

![]() ![]() With the elimination of the Mississippi Mud Bugs franchise (not big enough for the top 48 NABO cities), the Birmingham 'Bama' Boars, stepped in. Originally the logo was planned for the "Texas Tusks", but it fits well here. I made the B-Logo with side tusks to fit. |

![]() ![]() Nashville replaces the smaller Knoxville Knights in the 26 version of NABO. I've always wanted to use some of the "Mudville Nine" logos that are out there, but it was never really a good fit. I did not want to try and come up with a "musical" theme for Nashville, as I used that bit for Jacksonville. So, Nashville Nine .... not my most in depth effort. |

![]() ![]() Carolina replaces the Charleston Cheetahs due to city size (also replaces Raleigh Rampage in the region). The logos and mascot come from the Mississippi Mud Bugs (slang for crawdads), and I just recycled them for a new team. Lazy, but it works. |

![]() ![]() A long used franchise in my fictional leagues. The Generals moved away from the confederate theme (Grey and Navy) years ago to the modern military scheme of Green and Yellow. |
